Sorry that happened. Learning from mistakes can be tough, but you're helping prevent other people from making similar decisions by posting this video about it so thanks! I do think grading is very subjective and it probably happens the other way round a lot of the time (what should be 10s getting 9s). A 9 is still decent though, especially after noticing those edges the way they are.

Absolutely, I still plan on keeping this slab to my grave, it means alot to me still and it was a great lesson.

Sry to hear dude. In the coin game, there are crossovers where u send one companies slab to another. There’s an option for if it upgrades - they’ll reslab it. If not, they send back in the same slab you sent it in…never broken out. Would be cool if they did that for cards as well, as they should. CGC is NGC’s(big coin grader) brother brand. Better luck

I swear these companies have certain quotas for ratings. Like if they get too many 1st edition base set Charizards at a 10, they'll give a 9 or lower.

My first ever submission to both Beckett and psa 2 months ago i got 3 psa 10 back one being the magikarp from Paldea evolved and from Beckett I got one 9.5 and the other was a black label one piece Mrs all Sunday special art unbelievable first submission

I will admit, I feel like I've had more positive experiences with PSA with regards to crossovers. But they can be a bit more strict on vintage so keep that in mind.

It's from Vmax Climax but the English version is Brilliant stars. Super underrated card in my opinion.

I can still remember opening up Black and White era packs as a kid, however I left the hobby for a while and came back during the craze in Sword and shield with Vivid voltage and Chilling Pain (lol). First booster box I'd ever bought was for Chilling! Also astral radiance is a sleeper set! I'm waiting for the prices to shoot up this year

Makes me wonder how reliable CGC really is as a grading company, as this is clear evidence of negligence. Honestly, I feel the same way with PSA, with how certain cards can get away with a 9's or 10's when there are obvious flaws that should have graded it lower. Meanwhile, there are other upcoming grading companies that have been revolutionizing AI grading, i.e. TAG and AGS, taking away the common human errors that come with grading with the big three (PSA, CGC, BGS). Only reason we stick with the big three is because of namesake. Specifically, PSA. If a card isn't graded with one of these companies, it's just so much harder to value and move in the market. It creates this hard stuck mentality that we can't grade with other companies because our cards won't be as desirable or valuable.

Yeah, and to be fair BGS has proven most reliable in most of these scenarios. I would be really curious to try out Ai grading. It'd probably be so fast get grading done

Grading is mostly BS. The whole base concept is BS... people that did not have a job came up with this BS grading and it's just PEOPLE giving out grades about damn gaming cards. The whole business they created is insane.. and makes no point. It's robbery. I'd have my cards encased in a safe cover and bye. Let others grade them if they want to.

Right they're just people! That's why I always say it's subjective and it doesn't help that the industry is not very standardized for pokemon cards. Companies can literally make up there standards lol
