The way I look at it is, if your insurance is willing to give you the market value of the car right now, that is the way you should go. Senna's are investments at the end of the day. This way you are getting your investment back out of it and that money, as you stated, can go toward something else. No point having a salvage or accident report on the title. Not with a car that costs this much. And unfortunately, even though a damaged coque can be repaired, it will never be as strong as a fresh new coque. So yeah, I would take the money from the insurance and start fresh. Unless Houston wants to offer a reasonable price for the car and you guys can make some collaborative content out of it. Even then, a full payout is just too enticing given the cars you have coming already. Just my take though.

Regardless of your choice. Composites can be repaired. I work in aerospace. We can’t scrap composite war aircraft when they get shot up or hit. $550K sounds pretty good. It’s not like there are enough shops that know what they are doing and for an affordable price. How cracked is the monocoque? Was it limited to what we had seen? You can get a structural engineer suggest a repair that makes it as strong as original. We do this all the time in aerospace. It’s not a foregone conclusion that a repaired composite structure is weaker when repaired. Getting an engineered repair is the key.

That spec of senna really is the coolest. The only senna I've seen in person is some ugly dark green one with a yellow, blue, and different shade of green racing strip at motorcars of Atlanta. I'm sad to see it go, I was hoping you would do a cool build with it like stradman but now that I saw the condition it's in and the price to fix it, you made the right choice. 👍

The car should never go to copart if you intend to buy it back, the insurance company should offer you a settlement - the buyback etc For example, say it’s 1MM total, the insurance should say you have the option to purchase the car directly from them before it goes to auction for let’s say 300k, they then will give you the car and take the 300k from your settlement, you’ll be issued 700k payment for the left over and what you do with that 700k is entirely up to you…. You can flip the car and pocket the extra (I’ve done this) and keep your settlement if you really wanted to

Sometimes over-repairs end up over-doing-it and can become better than new due to overcompensation. Think about bones and when they are broken; the repair areas are stronger than new. All in all, a stiffer coque is safer than a softer coque, when you're pushing your coque to its limits.

The mono will be repaired and as strong if not stronger than factory 👍 you just need to work with someone who knows how to repair carbon. You should of done the 500k all in option :( but glad exotics now got it :D can't wait to see the content

Jus a light saving hole, they do them along the hwhole main pillars on race cars:) Jokes aside, this can be fixed with carbonfiber layers, and the hole is in the middle, not in the curved corners, I don't see this as a structural issue, when fixed properly with carbon.

with that amount of damage, the car will never be the same. Even if you went the heavy route of replacing the monocoque. The accident history will always make this car less valuable than a non-accident car. And just the internal disdain knowing it was in a major accident will always nagg at you. Now maybe in 20 years this car somehow becomes so rare and valuable you might actually benefit from keeping it. But if you can get paid out and replace it now- thats 100% the only way to go.

Would it be possible to allow the insurance to total it and then buy it back and repair it? You do need to watch out because if you buy it for 50 grand and fix it for 250k and then sell it for 750k. The insurance can actually come back and take what they lost.
