Those 80s muscle bikes just have way more class than the modern ones and look like they were built to follow the straight and narrow way. If only we could travel back in time. As far as your job in keeping that bike in ace condition, great job.

-I have an 81 and i love this bike,it's very confy and nimble for a 750 and extremely reliable,the engine got good power and can mantain easily 100mph cruise speed on the expressway,on the other hand it's kind of cold blooded and begs for a sixth speed.

Lovely bike, I had one of these in the late 80s in Johannesburg South Africa. Great to see the instrument display and hear that engine again. It was a very advanced bike for its time. Great daily communter and excellent long distance bike. Strangely underrated then and now.

Wow, the Seca was my first big bike, I still miss loads of the trick bits, especially the "computer" check before you started it, That really impressed my girlfriend at the time (we've been married 25 years now) I still miss the whistling sound it makes, smooth power and decent top end (the police couldn't keep up) and best of all the anti-dive forks. a proper trick bike. I watched one straight out of the box racing at Le Mans endurance race in the 80's. Great example mate ..

Wow - my last bike was a silver XJ 750, circa 1981. She was a dream with a very distinctive sound.

+Gandalf606 Yes, Loving it , thank you. This is my 5th Seca 750 going all the way back to 1982 !!!! My first silver one. It was a labour of love to restore it back to its original condition and was quite a lot of work to get it perfect. Every time I start this bike and take her out, its a big trip back in time to my youth !!! Love the cruiser riding position and whistle/jet like noise from the helical gears. I also love to ride my original perfect FJ1200, 1986 vintage, the prettiest of all the FJ`s. That brings me back to 1987 when I owned one back in the day !! Overloading on memories here !!! LOL

Here's a motorcycle with lots of personality,good fun horsepower and incredibly nimble for its size,extremely comfy and bulletproof mechanicals,also sounds beautiful with a 4x1 exhaust,i had a lot o motorcycles in my life,but this one overall was the best,not the most beautiful,not the most powerful,but overall the best of the bunch and the one i miss the most.

This motorcycle seems like it was ahead of its time.
@daithilacha18 жыл бұрын
+Jayne Cobb You are right. It was way ahead when it came out in 1981. That wrap around rear light still looks gorgeous today, and it was compared to lines off a Porsche 911 back in the day. The computerized console still amazes audiences to this day, along with the padded handlebars with no visible reservoir, and the anti dive units. The styling was so sleek and sexy, and still cuts it in 2016 !!!! My fully restored and in regular use 1982 silver version still pulls a crowd every time I venture out. Got to put up a video of it shortly.

Please do. My brother has an early 80's seca 750 and it's a dream to ride.

+Jayne Cobb Is your brother still riding his Seca regularly ??? Any issues ??? I assume its a red one, or maybe a black first year USA version ???? Red and black were the only USA colours far as I am aware, with silver also available here in Europe. Red is my favourite colour I have to say.

It still runs like a champ! My brother still owns it but doesn't take it out all the time. No plans on selling it.

@Mega2679 beatifull man,is a jewel,i have the 82 model with only 16.000 km traveled,it was brought from the states and it has only 80 mp/h in the dash.....very strange,i saw yours has 220 km/h,do you know why my bike has so little?
@242tdryan13 жыл бұрын
@MrTHIPARU my silly american government for some years in the 80s thought having 85 mph speedos on every motor vehicle would slow people down. so dumb but whatever its about 12.5 mph for every 1000 rpm in 5th gear so 8000 rpm is aprox 100 mph
@garydflatt49044 жыл бұрын
I put 50 thousand mile on mine. The computer which controls the ignition died, and I couldn’t buy another. Otherwise it would still be running. It would do a hundred easy, but that was the max, it was too unstable over that speed. Unlike my next bike, a BMW 1985 K1000, it would do 140 mph smooth as silk.

@MrTHIPARU Why only speedo up to 80mph in U.S.? Ronald Regan, he was such an old president, elected at 70 yrs. old and he didn't like Japanese bikes. Maybe all those old war movies he was in did something to him.
@MrTHIPARU14 жыл бұрын
@camlpg Now that's strange,i dont care it's a great bike,in fact all the japanese bikes are great,they had ruled the roads then and now.......
