You knit so much in your first year! And you pick colors that suit you so well. Last year was also my first year knitting and I completed 0 projects. 🥲 I find knitting so much harder than crocheting.
@ccam504 Жыл бұрын
Knitting seemed confusing at first to me too but started on scarfs then moved to another easy project when comfortable enough to move to another easy project. Most knitters have several unfinished projects on needles. 😊 If you have a local yarn shop they can help with good starter patterns . Keep practice knitting , many people who can crochet are wonderful knitters too.

Thank you! Knitting and crocheting definitely have their own pros and cons, but the number of hours I spent studying knitting techniques really helped me understand the stitches and construction. It's not an easy hobby but it is definitely worth the effort!

I also started a rather wide scarf just to get my knitting groove going...it's mindless and I can work on it without having to count or think. I plan to learn two-at-a-time magic loop toe up socks next and a summer tee after that...but I'm not sure I have the time for much more.

Wow! What an impressing first year! Just from your first project to your second we can see how good you got :) I think your first hat looks really even although what may look like laddering to you may be due to the fact you were twisting your stitch at that moment. You should try 9"circular needles SOOO much easier than DPNs, check out a few KZbin videos, or use needles stops on the ends of your DPNs, adds another couple steps per round but saves a lot of frustrations and fixes, worth the extra steps.
@truelaneknits Жыл бұрын
I find it too fiddly to use the 9" circulars on the heel flaps! I use DPNs just on the heel flap and the small circulars for the rest of the sock.
