you might like the Brownstone Beanie by Tori Yu! it has a unique construction where the brim is knit with fingering weight held single, then folded over, then the rest of the hat is knit with fingering weight held double. it's a good use of a fingering weight skein without knitting a whole hat on fingering weight held single, the brim is a little less chunky but still warm, and no ribbing :)

Welcome to Ct. My husband and I moved back to Ct in late August after being in NC for 20 years. Your podcast is inspirational and you are so real. You talk about things we all think. Why did I knit this so short. And why are these sleeves so short? I enjoy it as often as you can fit it in. Stay warm.

You can knit a hat without a folded brim 😊 I don't like tightness around my ears and I get hot easily so my hats are just a few cm of ribbing. You can also knit the mussulbergh (?)hat a lot shorter so that it is double but no need for the fold

I absolutely LOVE what you did with the neck and cuffs on the Kerr sweater!!

Chelsea! I can't tell you how happy I was to watch your video! Your knitting channel is my favorite by far! After watching your recap of 2024 and listening to your hat woes, I just want to say, I've had similar issues with the fit of a lot of ribbed hats I've knit where they somehow don't exactly look right on me. Then I knit the Oslo hat by Petite Knit and it looked a lot better - maybe because of the thick folded brim and also the fact that it's not ribbed. The only problem with it is that it's a boring knit - stockinette for days! I know you mentioned the Musselburgh hat as an option, and I think that would also look similar. Anyway, I hope 2025 is awesome for you and I'm looking forward to more videos from you!

So happy to see you back! I loved seeing all of your knits and you have seriously inspired me with the mohair + suri cumulus blouse, it looks so cozy and light.

Why don't you add some more to the sleeves in a brown or other fleck colour as a feature. Maybe in a lace? The sweater No. 1 looks great - apart from the short sleeves.

My favorite hat pattern is the expanding rib beanie by Ailbíona McLochlainn. You can wear as a beret which looks amazing with my big curly hair.

Yayyyy Chelsea, you're back! I have loved your podcast from day one and I'm so happy to see you more settled in CT. I grew up in Seattle and have a lot of compassion for how difficult it can be to find community and a sustainable way of life there. My favorite pattern from 2024 was Florence Miller's Step by Step Cardigan. I knitted it in Noro Hanui Cotton because it was the perfect fiber for southern California. Cheers to 2025, and knitting more objects you wear :)
