Well done on your nephew's sweater! This is my first time watching your channel, and it is SO enjoyable to me. When sewing buttons on a coat or jacket, it helps if you place a wooden match stick on the underside of the button and let that give some 'space' between the button and the garment as you sew it on. Just love your channel!
@truelaneknits Жыл бұрын
Oh my goodness thanks so much for watching and for the thoughtful comment! I definitely should have been more mindful when seeing on the buttons 😅 I’ll try that trick next time!
@aloudjane137 Жыл бұрын
I don't know if you already do this, but when I sew on buttons, as the last step I always take my yarn and wrap it around the 4 (or 2) legs of the stitches on the underside of the button a few times, before I tie the knot. (kinda hard to explain lol) This helps to create more space between the button and the fabric and makes them easier to close.

Listening to your saga about the button being stitched too tight…here’s a tip…… once you’ve stitched one loop of thread through the holes on the buttons, place a wooden toothpick under the loop on the top of the button and finish sewing on the button and when you’ve finished slip out the toothpick and it won’t be tight. I am a seamstress first and a knitter second! Love your sweaters…you inspire me because I’ve not knit a sweater…yet! Gayle in MN.

Hi Chelsea! 👋🏽 your stripe hype sweater looks amazing! 😍 It’s funny because I’m kind of having the same dilemma as to yarn type and color choice to make the sweater out of because I bought the pattern when it came out and now I’m debating whether to make it using yarn from stash or invest in some new yarn. Also, I can’t decide whether to make it summery or for cooler weather. I have been swatching though, so I’ll see where it takes me. 😆

I've seen it so many times on camera now, but I can't get over how pretty that colour of your cumulus is!! You look like a fresh leaf, and the colour suits you soo well. And also the layering with the Anker's tee, truly superb (I want to make one now, too, as I'm seeing this). I also love the speckle-vaganza of this episode (and many of your other ones, now that I think of it), it's so cool to see how they can come in so many colors and forms. It surprised me a bit when you mentioned you'd never made anything with tweed, because in my mind it feels like you did but I'm probably confounding it with speckles 😄
