This is the exact issue and experience I had just a week ago. I did everything you did, contacted ZWO, communicated with Bean and your story and mine are identical. They received my camera today,one hour later it was ready for return. I’m on the west coast so it will not be here until next Wednesday. They did not tell me what the repair was but I’m optimistic now that it should work once it arrives. Mine was only 45 days old. Thank you so much for posting this experience!!

My father bought me a used ASI294 MC Pro that had a major issue. After lots of emails back and forth with Simon, they gave me a return authorization so I sent my camera to their repair facility in New Jersey. It was repaired and sent back fully functional. It cost me a bit because it was out of warranty but nothing unreasonable. I was really happy with their response and response time.

You got lucky. I have an AM5 with big problems. After a few try this, try that emails, I was ghosted.

That's great news, and I suppose at the time of the issue you had perfect sky conditions? No clouds, no moon no smoke?....then no camera. I know the relief you are going thru. When I had issues with the seestar. The seestar group were right on it and after the problem was fixed by the repair app they sent me.they apologized for any inconvenience. Also I was looking to buy another zwo cam after this 585 mc pro Did not want to spend the money now for the 2600 But ending up buying the red cat 51 scope so next cam would be the asi533mc pro or the 294 mc pro I think someone said the 294 would be a good match for the Red cat 51. Could you or someone else give me a recommendation? Thanks! And. That's great for you that the service center is so close 😊

Oh yeah the whole darn weekend was clear skies and I was trying to finish up this one widefield project. The 585 is a wonderful camera that can work with the lower focal lengths thanks to the smaller pixels. I've been thinking about getting the 585 myself whenever they release the mono verison. I'm not a fan of thr 533 sensors. I don't know just square sensors bother me and the 294 is great all around besides the amp glows issues

That’s great work. Just out of curiosity, I assume you’re in the US, so are you near one of their service centres or something? Wonder if those of us in far-flung New Zealand would get such quick service.

Yeah I am in the US and the one location was in New Jersey. They do have facilities across the globe. Your might go over China if they don't happen to have one there in your country or maybe over in Australia

This was the only issue I've had with a ZWO product these last 4 years. I have used this camera countless times taking thousands of photos of the night sky. Tech can wear out depending on the usage.

All products can have issues, you rate them based on customer service and responsiveness, not on perfection. IMO
