Myanmar - Mixed Freight to Waw (2). December 2018

Myanmar has an extensive metre gauge railway network, these days, entirely diesel operated. However, the railway has kept a large stock of steam locomotives, although only a handful are steamable.
This sequence shows a chartered mixed freight running from Bago to Waw. Part Two features the section from Kali to Waw, hauled by 2-8-2 mikado number YD964.
At Waw there is a distinctive pivoting lifting bridge over the river to allow the passage of river traffic. We also catch a glimpse of an ex.Japanese WW2 truck by Hino in use as a crane.

Take a look at this one - kzbin.info/www/bejne/iJTbmJdphZ6Baqs&list=PLNKEdhmODMJx1U6LtJ_E6LS2jLsnWaODM There's a nice lower quadrant at 2:00 and, if you hold on, I catch it returning to Danger. This line in China wasn't built until 1995 but was entirely signalled by lower quadrants. Andy

Yes. The diesel unit has been bought as second hand from Japan. Many of the road vehicles in the country are also second hand from Japan (and so are right hand drive). Andy
