I have just bought used S cross petrol Zeta August 2021 model 31k km in 8.5 lac and I am going to use it for its full life. Mileage is also good as it is a big car 12 in city with ac 15 on the highway with ac and 17 in hill mixed ac use(50/50) as i am from uttarakhand.

Tiago petrol Automatic 7.86 lacks vs Tiago EV 11.48 L and subsidy is 1.5 L.. So approx 2.24 L to spend for Tiago EV. Battery Waranty is 8 year or 1.6 L Kms. To run 1.6 L Tiago Petrol requires 10000 Ltr Fuel cost approx 10 L . If one is driving ev monthly 2500 kms.., After 6 yrs cost of ev ownership is Zero. If same calulation for Tigo petrol 7.86 L + 10 L fuel cost . 😢 Ev is highest cost effective with low cost car like Tiago.

U r right. For 1.6 L kms one can calculate 1.6 lacks rupees electric charging as well we must add saving on service and maintenance cost which is at every 10 km i.e.16 minimum services. Compared to combustion engine service and maintenance cost is very cheap.

Very well explained, totally agree with you. If EVs are used as a secondary car it is worth. Remembering Mr. Chetan Maini and his small Reva car which was not appreciated by mass market nor the company got any push from the government. It was a good city commuting car, of course not so good looking and less range but again, during those days 2002-06 it was ok.... Again an early bird in the market. 😢

I see quite a lot of EV s in the city. However, very rarely seen one on a highway. So, i guess, the range and range anxiety is still a larger issue. I might have an EV 2 wheeler but never a 4 wheeler in my life I guess. Running cost may be less, but the ownership cost is very high compared to ICE. Long way to go for the EV s

Booked Nexon.EV - Daily Running is around 60-70km. +Ve - 7.2 KW for home charging with very low cost. Low maintenance cost. In the case of battery degradation (4-5%) that to happen after 7-8 years, We can replace the damaged cells not the whole battery pack. Increased in Charging infra across highways and City area. Even if we compare the Nexon Diesel top end AMT the price difference is only 1.5-2 lacs. And if we compare with Top end DCT petrol its around 3-3.5 Lacs. If the daily Running is more you can easily recover the upfront cost, also consider the high maintenance cost of diesel and petrol plus Engine wear and tear. I have compared EV with the Automatic versions not with the manual, as I wanted automatic for daily city run. -ve - You just need to plan your journey in case of long run. That's it. ** Don't Listen to any gyaani baba, do your own analysis, Consider your daily Run**

Thanks for the video. The battery replacement cost will not be there for everyone. Its just like engine replacement cost will not be for everyone. The 10-12 hours time is for home charging, which is the way an EV is supposed to be charged. There cannot be contamination/blending of "fuel" in an EV which is a major headache for petrol/diesel cars.

One thing that boggles my mind is that EVs lose their range and performance over a period of time while performance degradation in ICE is minimal. Also the cost savings we do in recharging is nothing compared to the cost of replacing the battery. Unless you are driving a lot in your EV. And in that case, the cost of recharging a fast charger is also significantly more than recharging at home, most homes in India don't even have parking for charging overnight.

If we look at Nexon EV in India or EVs in USA almost none of them loses more than 5-7%(atmost) range in 8 year or 1Lakh Kms. The ev battery is not 1 single battery but it has thousands of cells which are divided into modules. In rare case of cell failure, only that single module is changed

Tiago EV bhi khinch khaanch ke 13 tak chali jaati hai, loan alag. Isiliye maine 10 me XM+S diesel altroz uthayi. 2 lakh extra loan jayega but atleast kabhi bhi range aur onroad breakdown ki anxiety nahi rahegi.

I'll go for an ev car only if ot gives a range of 600km per charge and they come with a swapable batt option. Till then I'll keep driving a petrol version. I think within next 2 to 3 years I'll be able to see such changes. But yes, if such options come at a whopping cost, then it would be foolish to buy one. IC engines would then be a better buy as they too will evolve in technology.

I have purchased BYD E6 which cost me 30 Lacs including insurance and including RTO registration charges plus two chargers one 3 kw other 6.6 kw. Batteries have a guarantee of 5 Lacs kms. Mostly I charge it by my home electric connection ₹1/- per Km is charging cost. If I include total running of 5 Lacs Km cost of the EV comes to 30 car price plus 5 Lacs total charging cost which total cost would be 35 Lacs. If I would have purchased Innova crysta basic model total cost would be 22.50 Lacs including insurance , RTO registration. Now if I assume it consumes Diesel 12 per Km then total running cost would be 500000 / 12 per km x ₹ 90/- (diesel cost ) = 37.50 Lacs now total cost would be 22.50 Lacs vehicle cost + 37.50 diesel cost = 60 Lacs excluding servicing charges. In my view ultimately I would save 25 Lacs by buying BYD E6. commercial charging stations are increasing day by day every where supported by online app showing availability of commercial charging station also displaying their mobile numbers. My recommendation would be to buy EV.

Nexon ev max ki replacement me harrier lunga to usme petrol Kaun dalwayega. Aap there is no noice In car battery when you run in 100 speed. I have Primary cat as ev max and I am very satisfied. Travel out of city also no issue. Ev max range is 350 and you want go 180 km drive the car at 120 no issue. Ev car lekar petrol ki cost save hoti. 20 lac ki ev or 14 lak ki petrol nexon . In future petrol nexon cost after in including petrol is become 25 lac.

Firstly that news wasn't true. Secondly even if they will start banning registeration of new diesel cars from 2027, people who are purchasing now can still drive it and sell it as your vehicle registration was done before 2027. Also, I have XUV7OO diesel AT and find it really an awesome vehicle with decent fuel economy as well. For petrol you need to compromise on fuel economy otherwise both are good.

I have come to a conclusion which might not be agreed by everyone, but in current scenario Diesel engine should be preferred and enjoyed for 6-7yr and change to next diesel engine later(current pollution levels of BS 6.2 are very similar to petrol ones. Prefer relaible diesel engines as per your budget.)

I would go for a petrol car simply because the acquisition cost is lesser than an EV car. The EV car might be cheaper when you consider the running cost. But the acquisition cost would be higher by atleast 4 to 5 lakhs and it would take atleast 4 years to break even. Also the current infrastructure is not developed right now and it would take atleast 5 years to come of age.

Agreed Dear, but the point to understand is that the initial acquisition cost is very high when you compare it with a petrol or diesel car. Also the price of petrol and diesel would not increase so much that it becomes too costly because all the costs depend on the fuel prices. If oil prices appreciate them the economy will subside which the government cannot afford to let go for the government in power which will force the government to control oil prices

It depends on which vehicle you are planning. I recently purchased Tiago EV XT LR variant and after subsidy, got it at Rs 9.4 lakhs which just Rs 1.8 lakhs costly than corresponding petrol variant. Cost per km is less than Rs 1 compared to Rs 7 in petrol. One can easily recover in 2 years with 15-20k running per year. Additional advantage of an EV is it more fun to drive with instant pick up. Just take a test drive of EV and then petrol you will be come to know the difference. Also, people who doesn't have an EV are less aware of infrastructure of EV. Infrastructure has improved a lot in last 1 year and charging stations are available in city as well as major highways.

The current EV cars can never be used as taxis bcos of their limited range. So as private car it can be used provided the difference in upfront cost of ICE and EV cars is enormous. From the interest of that difference amount one can for sure run an ICE Car for the Government stipulated life of that car and ICE needs no replacement as against deteriration in EV battery output after its recharge cycles
