I love this man's story, and how his car is tied so much to his past. I still have a car I bought new 25 years ago, and even though it's only a third of the age of this man's car, I totally get the sentimental value; the people that got in the car, the places it's taken me, and the life event I went through during that time. I can only imagine how deeply connected he must be to his car, just like a good old friend.

my late dad had a 55 Packard. What I remember was the comfy rear seats and the rear self leveling shock absorbers. Great memories, thank you so much.

We had a 1949 Packard and a 1955 400 Packard. My father worked at a Packard dealership. They were/are wonderful cars.

You can see it's a Packard from a mile away. The top of the front grill still has Packard's trademark upper shape, a center arch with a short straight section on either side.

Great Video, fantastic Clipper, i have a 56 Clipper Custom Constellation Hardtop Coupe in Red with White top and side flash here in England UK

The Packard nameplate on that back trunk was most likely a dealer installed item. I have seen many 56 Clippers that don't have the Packard nameplates on the trunk lid. Clipper was a distinct "make" for 1956. Clipper actually outsold Packard for 56. Three Clipper models were produced: Deluxe, Custom and Super Panama. The creation of a separate "make" was part of James Nance's plan to created three car divisions and use one platform in order to realize the merger business case and create a Big-3 like product line model for S-P Corp. This whole name issue is very similar to Chrysler and Imperial confusion.

Supposedly the new Jeep Wagoner doesn’t say “JEEP” anywhere on it. To separate the off-road image from luxury.

I believe, from what I’ve seen, the “Jeep” only says Grand Wagoner. And it’s huge, like a Suburban.
