Was seriously considering this 53l dual zone but there were a few concerns. One, there does not appear to be a fridge cover for it...not a deal breaker as I agree the materials it's made of is pretty robust, but hey, I'd like the extra insulation and protection. Secondly, and more concerning, you could stand a 1 litre milk container in the flip-up basket section of the fridge side, but doesn't look as if a 2 litre container could fit. And for those who'd like to chill a bottle or two of wine, you cannot close the lid on the 53 with said wine standing in the flip-up section. And then there is the fact that us beer drinkers will be left somewhat short if you are using the freezer section for the kids ice-creams and other frozen goods as the remaining fridge section will struggle to hold a bottle of wine for the missus (its now on an angle...rather like her after a few), leaving bugger all beer room even if you ditch the milk. Reckon the next size up is what I will buy as it mitigates most my concerns. But otherwise a very informative review that reflects needs quite different from that of those catering more more than one or two folk.

Oh, and you cannot purchase this size from myCoolman's own site, hey. It would appear that this size is an Anaconda deal only.

Hey Karl thanks for the comment, you raise a few good points but i will say re milk bottles you’re pretty much right. I have a Coles 3 Litre bottle of milk in the fridge right now and it will only fit in the freezer section. With wine in the flip up section, you can stand up a regular white or red bottle, but it is tight. Champagne bottles Ive tried are slightly too large. But, they do lay flat OK on the top section. There’s also a bit more room down there in the flip up section for non-tall things like extra beer cans etc. Re fridge cover, I reckon one won’t be too far away. Good luck with your decision! Cheers

Good review mate, just looking at one of these now. How has it fared over the last 12 months? Cheers

Thanks for leaving a comment mate, the fridge has been going great. No issues. I still take the fridge in and out of the car as it’s needed. It seems to have handled all the bumps fine from 4x4ing without being bolted down too! We also use it quite a lot at home as an ‘overflow fridge’ if we run out of room in the kitchen. We just turn it on and off as needed. Hope that’s helpful! Cheers

Fantastic video - looking into the 44l one. Potentially stupid question, I assume we can plug the fridge into a wall socket if at home? I was planning on having it run on battery while in the car ride rather than the car battery.

Thanks for the feedback and yes it can run from a wall socket at home I do it all the time :) great for preparing the fridge the night before a trip or if you have a social event etc! You can also plug into a car socket too, you may need to upgrade to a more heavy duty one in your car though a lot of standard stocks aren’t built to handle big fridges etc.

@@BenCad Awesome, thanks for that. Bit too paranoid of running it via the car but will be super handy for car use for a few hours. Add to cart now! Cheers

Hi, nice review that covered a lot. One question- can you set the freezer section to also run as a fridge? Eg. for shorter trips where I don't need the freezer, can I set the temps of the zones independently and run it as a fridge-fridge? Spending so much on a fridge, I think having the fridge-freezer functionality would be handy for longer trips, although for weekend trips I would prefer to just run as a fridge-fridge with more room for beers lol. Judging from some of the clips in your review it looks like this is possible, although just want to confirm before dropping the $1100 or whatever Anaconda charges. Looks like it can stand a wine bottle in the fridge compartment? I hope they make an insulated cover for it, then it will be a surefire winner for my needs.
@BenCad
@BenCad 2 жыл бұрын
Hey mate, yep! You can run both compartments as a fridge, you can also disable one compartment too if you want to save power (Eg, on battery). Re wine bottles - yes. Easily will fit in the obvious side with the lid. The other side with the cage rack will fit most wine bottles but the champagne bottles I’ve tried are a little wide to stand up, but I think should fit on their side. If you’re not usually using it as a freezer you should be easily be able to get wine in. Hope that helps!

@@BenCad Awesome, good to know re. temp control for both sections. Not a massive champagne drinker so not too concerned about the larger bottles, usually like to have at least 1 cool bottle of white wine while camping, so seems like it should be able to accommodate that. Thanks!

I got a Hyundai 130 do you think it would fit if I fold the seats down I live in Sydney and drive to Adelaide 2 times a year thank you so much for this video 😊
@BenCad
@BenCad 3 жыл бұрын
Hey mate, I can't say this with complete certainly, but I would be reasonably confident this would fit into an i30 only with the seat down. Seats up I don't think it would fit. You can get other myCOOLMAN fridges in other smaller sizes which may be more suitable for a car that size.
