one more comment @ 6:41 you would need a lapidary wheel/disc to sharpen the edge so that it will cut. Basically a cold work wet grind.

Bitchin flowhood , did you guys build that yourself or is that a commercially available hood ? Curious as to where a guy could get a hood like that and how much cfm does it require ? Thanks

Scalpel takes 2 seconds to heat up. Seems like the whole tool would get hot after a few heats

yes I agree but it’s at least 3 cuts with a blade compared to one plunge, time is about the same - I can do a side by side when I get more. I usually don’t flame anyway and use pouches

Plus, with the ability to build an induction coil sterilizer, this seems like a fun toy but impractical.

Hi Gary, love what you are doing I was wondering if a GC with the right standards would help your projects ? I have a GC with onboard hydrogen generator its an sri model 320 with two injection ports. I am sure with your background it may be helpful . I could let you use it .

awesome! My experience with GC is very little but an HPLC would be more helpful to determine concentrations of compounds where as GC helps to identify compounds that are present in small quantities 🙏🏻 I appreciate it! 🍄❤️

I broke mine the first Time I tried it. I personally Think it's not Worth the Damn Trouble. Just use a scalpel and you have NO Issues. You gotta get it hot then it melts the agar if you touch it too soon. Props to the developer but I threw mine in the Trash. Glass scalpel just got knocked over on the table and shattered so unless you're just a very careful person who has no Problem handling Fragile things then this may be for you but if not I guarantee will be Broken before the 3rd use....maybe before you even get a Chance to use it. Just Unnecessary and doesn't really make the work easier. MycoCoil with the foot pedal with a Scalpel and im good 2 go! Thanks for the review Gary!

Someone needs to design a good agar punch 😂 w 2 buttons one that pushes out a wire or little spatula when you press it to get under the agar and when you transfer press the second button to release or push back out.
