My friends indoor farm should produce about 400Kg next week, and is on the way to doing about a tonne per week, with 4 FT staff and a few PT, is full on and tough going, but rewarding. And that's nowhere near enough to fulfill the orders coming in.

Hey, Gary. I'm curious how consistent one can be with the process from cloning to market. The timelines I find online are a little vague; especially for lion's mane. Fortunately it has a decent shelf life but I don't want consumers to get the shaft on that end if I can help it. Is it best to wait the longest suggested times in every case or can that drastically reduce yield if the substrate colonizes at the early end of the cycle for instance? Aside from cloning, are there ways to help the processes effectively take the maximum times to ensure consistency? P. S. Congrats on the new place!

Where do you get your boxes for the farmers market? They look like a good size and I need to find some as I have a market I'll be selling to soon and have little Idea on how to package my goods.

I'd love more videos like this. How long do you think sterilized substrate can sit in a bag before it dries out or starts growing something unintentional before inoculation?
@FreshfromtheFarmFungi Жыл бұрын
thanks! if done correctly, you should be able to keep a back stock indefinitely as long as it is sealed and sterile. I have not tested this but in theory it would work - our bottleneck is space though so this doesn't make sense logistically

On the Bubba‘s Barrels website they say, the barrels are not intended for use with grainspawn, could you comment on that? And: don’t you use the barrel also for your grain? Thanks so much for all the content you give away! 🙏🏻❤️🍄
@FreshfromtheFarmFungi11 ай бұрын
this is correct - it works for bulk because it has a lower contaminant load and the block can be colonized quickly from grain spawn. Grains need to be sterilized though so they require an autoclave or pressure cookers

What brand stainless steel tables are you using Gary?
@FreshfromtheFarmFungi Жыл бұрын
amzn.to/3TNv8mQ I like these - if you can find one that is a little deeper for the flow hood it helps give more space for inoculations

I saw a video where they used a chest freezer with a temp monitor so the monitor would turn it on and off to keep it at fridge temps. They used it to store lots of colonized bulk bags so they could pull them out as needed and put them in the grow room. I've never done it but seems smart to me

Thanks! I’ll try that. I don’t have enough that it really makes a difference, but it sure would be more convenient! Lol Thanks again!
