I really like MyDMX3 for the features it has and the effects engine. My biggest complaint is its instability. When I first started using it , it would crash all the time. I had to constantly save in order not to lose the programming I just did. It still crashes now just not as much. Fortunately it only crashes when programming and not once it is programmed. I was following along with you and was doing fine and then....... you know the rest. This time I lost the 3D set up because I didn't save it. Forgot about that because I usually don't use the 3D but was using it because you did. Frustrating as hell because the 3D is a lot more involved than the 2D. Now I have to re-position all of my lights once again. I didn't use your fixtures, I have a different set up with a lot more lights. Oh well. I've spoken to ADJ about fixing the crashing problem but I think they have moved on from MyDMX3 to focus on other things. Like the way they are always discontinuing lights. Look at their website. There are a ton of discontinues.

Hello, I am trying to create a scene on MYDMX 3.0 where I have the following steps: 1. Purple lights using a circle pan-tilt effect but want this to run for 3 minutes 2. Same as step 1 but lights are pink 3. Same as step 3 but lights are white Not sure how to have my pan-tilt effect run at 5 seconds but have the colour stay for 3 minutes and then change to a second colour for 3 minutes and then to a third colour for 3 minutes. Please help!

So I just got my dmx 3.0, how do I set fixtures on the ground in the visualizer, and how did you get the .owing heads to reverse pan and tilt

There is a setting in the visualizer for every fixture where you can reverse their pan and tilt. Select the fixture you want to reverse and then go to options

What if I cant find the name of the lights to patch them in?? I have ChauvetDJ T3USB, but I cannot find that on the list? How do I know what mode to select?? I am completely ignorant to this process. Our old computer went out so I had to use another one to get all this going for our church lights. Everything was programmed on the other one by an AV guy.

Is there a specific reason at 19:00 you opened the dimmer with an effect rather than using the fader?

Just to save time. It’s faster to just add the dimmer effect than to select all the steps and turn the dimmer up

You need to flip the pan and tilt on one of the moving heads in the visualizer

Go to store.dmxsoft.com/en/ssl and search for your fixture. Your light is most likely in their library. All you have to do is download the file for your light and import it to mydmx

does anyone know why on my 90w moving head LED when I go to the colour wheel i do not get the colours, both my moving head lights are white and cannot be changed. On this video at 9:33 the colour selection is on screen. On mine I just get the colour wheel with gobo icons thank you any help appreciated

My best guess is that the manufacturer never fully programmed the lights and just left it as it is. Most Chinese manufacturers do that with MyDMX 3 so that may be why. I know that chauvet and adj and other known brands do put absolutely everything and that’s why you see the colors on mine

@@DJFiezta first patch one 90w moving head 1 to keep it simple click on yes to load into visualiser go to Edit slider 1 left and right working Slider 2 up and down working Slider 11 turn up brightness on Dimmer In the pannel bottom right where the light appears as a square box the colour is white as in the visualiser window go to Pallete and on mine i have no colour tab like yours and i cant find any way to change to any colour other than white color for the moving head lights. If i plug the moving head lights in whilst doing this its the same. Many thanks any ideas much appreciated Dave

From my experience, the software is definitely not as stable on Mac as it is on windows. Another thing I’ve noticed is that if you have MyDMX and the visualizer open at the same time, the risk of a crash increases by quite a bit. Another thing I’ve noticed is that for some reason the software runs better when the computer isn’t connected to internet so now I turn wifi off when programming
