I mean... most of the "INFPs and especially INFJs" in the mbti community are mistyped because they took the 16personalities test and haven't researched cognitive functions. 😃
@axd0045

@@sipulit7295 I took the cognitive functions test as well, and it affirmed my most pronounced cognitive function is "introverted feeling". I cannot see myself fitting in any other classification apart from INFP. I think people in general view myer-briggs in far too rigid terms sometimes, they fail to understand it is a personality guide, not a concrete classification with no room for nuance.

Seriously, I want to be a teacher, a therapist, a baker, a farmer, an artist, a lyricist, a content creator, an entrepreneur, make my own recipe and do business, omg.. And in the end, I still can't do anything. Because I really need to take time thinking, planning, plotting, and consider the pro and cons, then tired, lost and achieve nothing. HELP

Deuteronomy 18:9-12 New International Version Occult Practices 9 When you enter the land the Lord your God is giving you, do not learn to imitate the detestable ways of the nations there. 10 Let no one be found among you who sacrifices their son or daughter in the fire, who practices divination or sorcery, interprets omens, engages in witchcraft, 11 or casts spells, or who is a medium or spiritist or who consults the dead. 12 Anyone who does these things is detestable to the Lord; because of these same detestable practices the Lord your God will drive out those nations before you.

as an infj, when i was a child i used to think my parents' problems were also my problem. i spent my childhood thinking of what i can do when i get older to help, and make a difference in our family. as i got older, i was always told that i was thoughtful, and considerate; things i knew myself. but yep, it's hard to grow up while you were constantly looking out for other people, even though you don't really want it.

As an INTJ, when i was a child i was similar in a way. But i wasn’t an emotional child, i constantly was a kid who thought logically about things, the pros and cons to everything without emotions. The way i responded to those issues was to help them in a way indirectly. Like if they asked me what i wanted for my birthday while they were poor, i told them i didn’t need or want anything so they could save money. Or if it was something that was a huge responsibility, i would also handle it in a way that would help them out as well in terms of not having to worry alot. Like when my mom asked me when i was 15yo what kind of car i wanted to get for my 16th birthday. And i told her i didn’t want a car because i knew it was a huge responsibility to have to have a car payment, maintainence, car insurance and just the fact i would have to operate a heavy piece of machinery while on the road with other drivers that could be very unpredictable. She told me i was an odd child because i wasn’t the typical thinker for my young age. I got alot growing up that i even though i was quiet, shy and private, i was wise beyond my years.

As an INTJ, I've only recently just learned that other people only wanted someone to vent out to, not have their problems solved. I don't know how but I've tried it and it was the only time that I realized that not all problems and failures does not need to be analyzed and solved.
@queeniecraft

Fellow INTJ -- I also greatly struggle with this at times! I've gotten into the habit of asking before a conversation starts, "Would you like me to listen or do you want some input?" It saves yourself and the other person a lot of frustration. I am more of a "If I'm saying anything I have considered solutions and am ready to act", and less of a, "I want to vent about this and then do nothing because venting alone helped enough" so it was hard for me to grasp at first.

I think they are called Archtects because this major combines creativity, imagination and innovation AND stric calculations and analysis, cause you're still making a real thing, a real project what people will be using. A lot of architects know not only how to draw but basics for engineering, physics and many others majors cause they're creating for a real world and they should think of each little aspect to reach perfection Just like INTJ's personality brings together not only rationality but imagination.

The part about INFP's having a rather unassuming life from the outside but having a rich inner world is so fascinating. I meet plenty of people that don't show much interest in learning more about my inner world, and while I have no expectation or judgement of them for it, I just can't help but think what they're missing out on. The analogy of a wardrobe and Narnia can summarize it quite well.

As an INFP, this is so accurate. My mind's really loud all the time, trying to converse with myself, that it becomes overwhelming at times. Also, I always have high expectations for myself; in all aspects of life, that's why a lot of people tend to say that I'm a perfectionist. This is also the reason why I have never entered in a relationship. In addition, it has always been my greatest dream to help those people in need so once I have enough money, hopefully I could establish a foundation. I also wish to adopt in the future 😊

As an INFP I can say that pretty much everything is on point. I want to help others and Iam passionate about stuff. When I have a passion I dive deep but with other stuff that I'm not passionate about, I have trouble with. I daydream a lot and it has come a problem, I just need to work but it is extremely hard at times. I do not worry about anything as it will always work out. INTJ here. This was quite possibly the most informative and most complimentary description of the INTJ personality I've ever seen on KZbin. When you said they probably spend more time thinking about love than expressing it, I started laughing hysterically at my screen because that's exactly what I do! Same goes with any emotion, really. When I'm watching an emotional scene during a movie, instead of crying like some people may do, I just think to myself 'Man. I guess I'm supposed to cry at this bit.' I did cry a lot as a kid, but now I just can't. The rational part of my brain never switches off, I just don't like losing control of myself. This was also a great video to learn about the other personalities, particularly the extroverted sensors.

Advice for INTPs: - Focus on your own weaknesses, learn to apply your pattern recognition to emotions, test on yourself first, figure out what biological things are happening when you get angry, upset or even happy, remember how these illogical emotional things impact your thinking, then start applying that logic when dealing with someone also experiencing the same thing. Giving logical arguments to a pissed off or upset person isn't going to work, you know it'll just make them dig in their heels, just like you :) - Get a whiteboard with a grid for filling in the days of a month, use this to move the mental load of remembering small things that need to happen on a schedule and to keep you grounded. - Do not argue with stupid people, this sounds harsh, but understanding that you can't force someone to change their mind if they're already to rigid in their thinking, it'll just lead to your own frustration and making you look like a jerk.

One thing I noticed, as an INTP too, is that not only am I a perfectionist, but I'm also a procrastinator (I think that's where the "P" comes in, i.e. play now work later). If I can't imagine doing something perfect in my head, then I won't even start it. However, starting a project, and learning from the mistakes is what makes things perfect, which is so counterintuitive for my brain 😅

I love being in social groups and chatting with people one on one, it gives me so much energy. but then when I completely drain myself and need to be alone I find I don’t have the energy to put into what I want to do creatively, or do the best I can at work, and that sucks. but if I say no I feel so much fomo, like I’ve missed an experience. it’s a hard balance lol still trying to work on that one

I don't think your MBTI ever truely "changes" rather you learn how to develop other functions as you mature. You should look into the 4 quads of the brain. If your a ISTJ ( like myself) it would be your ego is the ISTJ, your subconscious is the ENFP, your unconscious is the ESTP, and you super-ego is the INFJ. As a child growing up I was bullied and picked on for being myself so since my personality was deemed unacceptable to my peers I started using my unconscious ESTP personality side of me untill my late 20s when I became more comfortable being "me" (ISTJ-T). Now at 42 I realize why I acted up, and turned in to the very same bully I so despised( If you can't beat them, join them mentally). This is the same reason why people sometimes don't "act like themselves" in certain situations. You can use other MBTIs in your quad but it just takes more focus, doesn't come naturally, and will almost certainly feel drained after long periods of time. Just something to consider when exploring the very subjective world of MBTI......

I'm an ENFP and the part about trusting prematurely hit hard for me. I trusted someone too early and they ended up hurting my young, innocent heart far beyond full repair. It's made it tough for me to properly trust again and be that outgoing, caring, and approachable person I once was. Now a lot of people would say I'm more negative than I am positive, and one of the quietest in any group I'm in (and not just because I'm zoning off). I think it's important for any ENFP to be very careful about trusting others and now that I know that I made a decision. I decided I would have no secrets that need to be hidden, I share everything with almost everyone if they want to know so that I don't have to trust anyone. The only thing I don't share are my deep emotions. So to all those young ENFPs out there, be careful and learn when to keep something to yourself, or make the same decision I did.

Hits home. I’m an ENFJ. I am into: all natural bodybuilding, music production, DJ’ing, philosophy, flair bartending, etc. I think I am sensitive, very authentic and have zero problem with being vulnerable. I’m told I’m super empathetic. I felt misunderstood and ‘not part of the group’ my whole life. The things I chose to do also made me even weirder. Hobbies, profession, interests, etc. I also live in Holland where ‘acting/being different’ is not really well received. ‘Act normal, then you are already acting crazy enough’ is a saying here. I’m also an ENFJ that hardly has any friends. That makes me feel even lonelier. I have a huge need for human contact but that contact is hard when people think you are odd.

I agree with ^. If anyone wonders why, it’s because 16 personalities(unfortunately the most widespread of mbti tests) types people based off of letters. That is not what mbti is about. Mbti is about cognitive functions. If you stick to taking tests, I suggest taking tests from multiple trusted sites and come to a conclusion. If the test results are significantly different, you could study cognitive functions and type yourself(just make sure not to be biased and seek help from other people). Good luck on your self discovery journey!

One of the traits of infp is to be able to know our own feelings quite well and a healthy infp will be able to control and express it in a healthy way. Our empathy also means we cannot stand unnecessary cruelty, especially towards others. It can lead to "evil" thoughts which our open mindedness doesn't shy away from. Healthy infps will engage with the thoughts but wouldn't act on it because we know our values deeply.

The INFP is definitely accurate on this one. Both of the strengths and weaknesses for me specially. Honestly, it's feels kind of hard being an INFP, specially because you know people are going to take advantage of you but you would still do it regardless. I'll complain about certain tasks and I would do it. Someone asked me to draw for their project and I would still do it. My friend even got angry at my classmates for it, because people just come up to me and I'd accept doing it without questioning anything and she didn't like how people were taking advantage of me so easily. Of course, at that time I was a bit indifferent since I was so use to it since I was a little kid. And for the past years, I've gone through dealing with the weaknesses. We're currently not financially stable and I understand that situation, so I'm trying my best to help. But sometimes thoughts like "my help were never enough", " I'm useless" , and "you're not working harder" or "I should give up being an artist" often sprout out of my head. I wanted to talk to my friends but I also don't want to bother them when they're busy with their own lives, so I end up isolating myself. I wish I wasn't as emotionally vulnerable like being able to read the room or having the ability to put myself in someone's shoes when sometimes I forget about taking care of myself. If I ever felt like 2 people are fighting in the house I'd often try to be a middle man or an atmosphere lifter, so in the end I try to resolve their problem when I sometimes can't even solve mine. I'd end up dwelling on useless thoughts going full circle of not resolving anything. It's kind of bad ngl. I do hate that I think like this sometimes because it's actually exhausting in the long run 😂 hahaha

But then my professor grouped us into our personality groups and I realized that my experience, as an INTP, was shared by other INTPs too! That's when I really believed in this thing. The things that affect your personality are the environment you live in and your pre given traits. I used to land on enfp and infp in early secondary school but since late secondary school and afterwards I keep landing on infj, I think with the first few tests I wasn't being 100% honest with myself, I was trying to be too optimistic back then, but now I value honesty more than anything, so I try to be especially honest with myself at least. But to a degree, I do somewhat relate to those two previous personalities quite a bit, but infj just- hits more on a deeper more personal level. I also realise I've probably studied the wrong thing and got into the wrong industry, I think I would've been so much happier working as a therapist or massage therapy. Oh well, never to late to study again, I'll save up for adult classes and work my way into it.

@@infinitechibi1496I remember getting different personality types when I was younger as well. It was always similar to the advocate and always one of these green types. I am clearly an Advocate for years now but I don't see the other outcomes as mistakes. For me personally, I see my own devolopment in the different archetypes I got over the years. I belive that the human soul is infinite complex and ever changing, I think it makes perfect sense that nobody is one personality type their whole life, at least I am not. Maybe the other outcomes describes your younger state of consciousness in its process to find its true self and maybe seeing it that way can help you to understand your own devolopment better 🤔
