Fellow INTJ -- I also greatly struggle with this at times! I've gotten into the habit of asking before a conversation starts, "Would you like me to listen or do you want some input?" It saves yourself and the other person a lot of frustration. I am more of a "If I'm saying anything I have considered solutions and am ready to act", and less of a, "I want to vent about this and then do nothing because venting alone helped enough" so it was hard for me to grasp at first.

As an INTJ, when i was a child i was similar in a way. But i wasn’t an emotional child, i constantly was a kid who thought logically about things, the pros and cons to everything without emotions. The way i responded to those issues was to help them in a way indirectly. Like if they asked me what i wanted for my birthday while they were poor, i told them i didn’t need or want anything so they could save money. Or if it was something that was a huge responsibility, i would also handle it in a way that would help them out as well in terms of not having to worry alot. Like when my mom asked me when i was 15yo what kind of car i wanted to get for my 16th birthday. And i told her i didn’t want a car because i knew it was a huge responsibility to have to have a car payment, maintainence, car insurance and just the fact i would have to operate a heavy piece of machinery while on the road with other drivers that could be very unpredictable. She told me i was an odd child because i wasn’t the typical thinker for my young age. I got alot growing up that i even though i was quiet, shy and private, i was wise beyond my years.

I meet plenty of people that don't show much interest in learning more about my inner world, and while I have no expectation or judgement of them for it, I just can't help but think what they're missing out on. INTJ here. This was quite possibly the most informative and most complimentary description of the INTJ personality I've ever seen on KZbin. When you said they probably spend more time thinking about love than expressing it, I started laughing hysterically at my screen because that's exactly what I do! Same goes with any emotion, really. When I'm watching an emotional scene during a movie, instead of crying like some people may do, I just think to myself 'Man. I guess I'm supposed to cry at this bit.' I did cry a lot as a kid, but now I just can't. The rational part of my brain never switches off, I just don't like losing control of myself. This was also a great video to learn about the other personalities, particularly the extroverted sensors.

Hits home. I’m an ENFJ. I am into: all natural bodybuilding, music production, DJ’ing, philosophy, flair bartending, etc. I think I am sensitive, very authentic and have zero problem with being vulnerable. I’m told I’m super empathetic. I felt misunderstood and ‘not part of the group’ my whole life. The things I chose to do also made me even weirder. Hobbies, profession, interests, etc. I also live in Holland where ‘acting/being different’ is not really well received. ‘Act normal, then you are already acting crazy enough’ is a saying here. I’m also an ENFJ that hardly has any friends. That makes me feel even lonelier. I have a huge need for human contact but that contact is hard when people think you are odd.

I'm an ENFP and the part about trusting prematurely hit hard for me. I trusted someone too early and they ended up hurting my young, innocent heart far beyond full repair. It's made it tough for me to properly trust again and be that outgoing, caring, and approachable person I once was. Now a lot of people would say I'm more negative than I am positive, and one of the quietest in any group I'm in (and not just because I'm zoning off). I think it's important for any ENFP to be very careful about trusting others and now that I know that I made a decision. I decided I would have no secrets that need to be hidden, I share everything with almost everyone if they want to know so that I don't have to trust anyone. The only thing I don't share are my deep emotions. So to all those young ENFPs out there, be careful and learn when to keep something to yourself, or make the same decision I did.

I love being in social groups and chatting with people one on one, it gives me so much energy. but then when I completely drain myself and need to be alone I find I don’t have the energy to put into what I want to do creatively, or do the best I can at work, and that sucks. but if I say no I feel so much fomo, like I’ve missed an experience. it’s a hard balance lol still trying to work on that one

As an INFP i can really relate to us being very open-minded to the point where I have made friends with many tracers and art stealers and just bullies all in all, although there was this one moment where someone kept bullying me for being "too casual and aggresive" since I have a fond use for caps and I probably just love strarting conversations even if they may be a bit more on the weirder side (and lets say that person who bullied just straight yeeted a bad memory on me that gave me quite the self-doubt phase)

@infinitechibi14962 жыл бұрын
I used to land on enfp and infp in early secondary school but since late secondary school and afterwards I keep landing on infj, I think with the first few tests I wasn't being 100% honest with myself, I was trying to be too optimistic back then, but now I value honesty more than anything, so I try to be especially honest with myself at least. But to a degree, I do somewhat relate to those two previous personalities quite a bit, but infj just- hits more on a deeper more personal level. I also realise I've probably studied the wrong thing and got into the wrong industry, I think I would've been so much happier working as a therapist or massage therapy. Oh well, never to late to study again, I'll save up for adult classes and work my way into it.

@@infinitechibi1496I remember getting different personality types when I was younger as well. It was always similar to the advocate and always one of these green types. I am clearly an Advocate for years now but I don't see the other outcomes as mistakes. For me personally, I see my own devolopment in the different archetypes I got over the years. I belive that the human soul is infinite complex and ever changing, I think it makes perfect sense that nobody is one personality type their whole life, at least I am not. Maybe the other outcomes describes your younger state of consciousness in its process to find its true self and maybe seeing it that way can help you to understand your own devolopment better 🤔

Advice for INTPs: - Focus on your own weaknesses, learn to apply your pattern recognition to emotions, test on yourself first, figure out what biological things are happening when you get angry, upset or even happy, remember how these illogical emotional things impact your thinking, then start applying that logic when dealing with someone also experiencing the same thing. Giving logical arguments to a pissed off or upset person isn't going to work, you know it'll just make them dig in their heels, just like you :) - Get a whiteboard with a grid for filling in the days of a month, use this to move the mental load of remembering small things that need to happen on a schedule and to keep you grounded. - Do not argue with stupid people, this sounds harsh, but understanding that you can't force someone to change their mind if they're already to rigid in their thinking, it'll just lead to your own frustration and making you look like a jerk.

I did this quiz twice and got INFP both times and after watching that segment, I understand why. I sometimes feel lonely in this world because no one shows me the same care I show other people (except from my mum but she's my mother, she knows me well). Hell I've cried for people before, because they cry but no one has ever done that for me. I know people show concern and care in different ways but I've never met someone who does that and I just feel like I'm very different to those I know. But it's always nice to hear other people who do feel the same.

Sorry to inform you but there is 99% chance that you are mistyped. 16personalieties is absolutely THE WORST site to take test for MBTI since it doesn't even listen to Myers-Briggs theory and instead of testing you for MBTI, it tests you for Big5 I recommend researching functions or at least do mistype Investigator test
@miumiuwony2 жыл бұрын
I agree with ^. If anyone wonders why, it’s because 16 personalities(unfortunately the most widespread of mbti tests) types people based off of letters. That is not what mbti is about. Mbti is about cognitive functions. If you stick to taking tests, I suggest taking tests from multiple trusted sites and come to a conclusion. If the test results are significantly different, you could study cognitive functions and type yourself(just make sure not to be biased and seek help from other people). Good luck on your self discovery journey!

I'm an INFP too, I've self studied cognitive functions and learnt alot about my type. One of the traits of infp is to be able to know our own feelings quite well and a healthy infp will be able to control and express it in a healthy way. Our empathy also means we cannot stand unnecessary cruelty, especially towards others. It can lead to "evil" thoughts which our open mindedness doesn't shy away from. Healthy infps will engage with the thoughts but wouldn't act on it because we know our values deeply.

@Dios_of_Autumn-1999 Жыл бұрын
As a fellow istp, I found a solution to this problem. I usually think less about submitting the humor itself and rather say/do things for the sake of the interest of it. Its weird that we want to have friends that will be with us without the humor and its kinda difficult. So far i can only see a solution to this problem by befriending other istps. Befriending different personality types other than istp is too costly for my energy.
@sylviechartrand2430 Жыл бұрын
It gets easier with age. You will become more intuitive to when you should either tone down your insensitivity or explain without compromising yourself and being able to do it in an endearing way with with humour or witt.
