Originally Philippines was a Muslims country but when Spaniards came to Philippines they converted lots of the Filipino Muslims to Catholics. In the South there's a lot of Muslims especially the small towns. There's more Muslims church and it would be nice if you show us the Muslims people in Philippines.
@bobblegang1410 ай бұрын
Hi! Let me just kindly correct your statement, while it is true that Islam came to the Philippines before Christianity BUT the Philippines was not a "Muslim-country" during the pre-colonial times. There were a lot of religions practiced by other barangays in the archipelago, Islam was just one of those religions, the predominant religion that was practiced were the Indigenous Philippine folk religions.
@rigobertoitachijohnson7 ай бұрын
@@bobblegang14Philippine folk religion is dying now in the province areas not previously Christianized, it's sad that it became that way and I wasn't able to experience what it was like... 20yrs ago they were still practicing folk religion, now they're all Christians and it feels like some sort of cult there... they treat Christianity very seriously...

im a catholic filipino and i am angry when people commenting "Dont go into mindanao bcus terrorism. And islam and muslims are bad. " like i wanna slap them hard. Philippines, though a Christian majority nation, Filipinos are tolerable about what faith you believe in: christian, islam, buddhism, etc. And i am also. And i am intolerant to my fellow catholics who are saying something negative to other faiths. Philippine Catholic colleges and universities are very welcoming students of all faiths no discrimination.

Glad you enjoyed it there. Tbh, i've never heard that that place is unsafe. It's always Tondo that gets tauted as unsafe here. But with increased police visibility, it's become much safer now. In fact, a certain area in Tondo - Ugbo - is even famous now for its street food. Anyway, thanks for showing us that place.

Thank you for appreciating our culture, I can certainly feel your sincerity in everything you say about your stay in our beloved Philippines! Unfortunately, one month is not enough to see everything our country has to offer 😊 especially if you prefer the non- tourist areas where the real culture can really be experienced..you still have to see the different "fiestas" (festivals) being celebrated; each city or province has one they are proud of..I am from Bacolod City in Negros Island and we have the world renowned Masskara Festival celebrated annually in October. Maybe you can come and visit us too in the future. There are also a lot to see here.... Oh, don't be apologetic: we don't take offense from the downsides that you mentioned because we also experience that and, yup! it's SO frustrating! We still need to improve on those things (and more, sadly✌️) We say "it's more fun in the Philippines!" but now I can say " it's more fun to see the Philippines with family" as was in your case and you have a beautiful family. Stay safe in your travels. You may not know it but we learn from them too.

I am no Muslim, I am Italian, but have 2 muslim friends, one from Tunisia another from India, and they are so nice people and their families too. I also enjoy a lot to ask many questions about their ways and about the religion, because I am very curious and the more I know (very little yet) the more it seems amazing and gorgeous. It’s sad that many think Muslims are bad people. Maybe there are some bad people like in every group of people and sadly those are the only ones everyone talk about. I believe we can have different cultures, religions and views but if we want, as humans, we can really respect each other and learn a lot especially from those that have different ways. To this day I feel so blessed to have these two Muslim friends and I enjoy a lot listening to them explaining things about religion, celebrations or food, anything. It is very interesting and enriching every time.
