I was going to buy this until I read the reviews on Williams-Sonoma's website. A common complaint was that the silicone coating came off the beaters. Photos of the problem were included with the reviews. Bummer.

Has anyone found a solution for the rubber coming off the beaters? How to remove the rubber to keep using the beaters?

I took a razor blade to the silicone. Then used steel wool to what was still stuck. I'm having difficulty getting it off where the beaters intersect. 😢

First off, thanks for the concise and clear review, well done. As to the noise level, all the "quiet" mixers seem to promote the silicon beaters, but to me, the loudest part is the motor itself - to that end, how does this mixer stack up? Can you hold a relatively normal volume conversation while using it?

Yes, this mixer is much quieter than budget mixers in terms of actual motor noise as well

I just bought this mixer. I have not yet actually mixed anything yet, but when I turned it on for the first time to see how it would run, I noticed that one beater was 'wonky-er' than the other.... meaning it was not fully centered when running. Is this normal?

Mine won't hold one of the beaters any more. I want to find out if that is fixable.

I link the rubber coated beaters, I actually find they make a big difference

The only problem with this model is that the rubber wears off the beaters and the beaters cannot be replaced. Check the Breville site and Amazon reviews and you'll see several people complaining about this.

@@timtriolo Eh? you can order them off Breville.com for $10.45. People on Amazon complain about things without doing any actual research sometimes. I own this and I ordered replacement beaters about a year ago.

How does this compare to kitchen aid. Equal to or not? Should i get this for rare occasion baking? Is the motor comparison as good better etc etc as its price comparisons to others. Pls give more details critiques bcuz u have a voice that sounds great for reporting reviewing. Seriously its not annoying lol

175 watts for the kitchenaid vs 240 with this one. The kitchenaid gets stuck in buttercream frosting, home made potatoes and some cookie doughs.
