I have a question, I hope you, or one of your watchers can help me. I had green hair algae in my 75gal saltwater aquarium. I have pulled all rocks out. I have scrubbed them clean. I have washed them in water and bleach bath (4water to 1 bleach) soaked them in fresh water/bleach for 8 hours, turning and shaking until no more bubbles released. Rinsed each individually the same turn and shake method with fresh tap water. After rinsing, I left them to dry for 24 hours, then set them all out and washed with my pressure washer. Resoaked in fresh water for another 12 hours and now they are left out to dry. When should they be safe to outback un my tank? Should I soak then in a brine solution? Plain water? If so…how long do I soak before they won’t bea hazard? Thanks.

Hi, im new to the channel, and am currently looking at starting my first saltwater tank. I am really impressed with the styling of the Reef Octopus Lux T90. Im bummed that you tore yours down. Was it not a good tank? I want to get an AIO, but with a sump, not a cartridge style, thats what drew me to the Octo Lux T90. If not that tank, which would you recommend to have a nice startup tank? Thank you

Been out of the hobby for a bit, and I am looking for a new tank and was curious how you liked the reef octopus lux t90 from a long term perspective? It looks like a very nice tank but there aren’t a lot of videos and long term reviews on it. This is one of the tanks on my short list and was curious if you still think the quality is worth it after having run it for some time. Thanks for what you do great videos!

Also, any thoughts on why phosphates would be high in the frag tank? Wouldn’t phosphates primarily come from too much food and I wouldn’t imagine you having to feed to much in there? Does your source sAltwater have any phosphates?

Matthew I have a few questions that’s are very important! I had my 38 gallon bow tank let go last night. I have 37lbs of cycled Marco dry rock in it and had 3 clown fish survive. I am in the process of getting a new 75 gallon but it can take upto 10 days to get in due to lack of stock. The store has zero small tanks left. Can this rock just be stored in 5 gallon buckets till I get the 75 gallon put together or am I gonna lose all my rock and 3 fish? :(. I’m just right beside myself over this sadly.
@MyFirstFishTank2 жыл бұрын
Oh no! That's terrible. But yes you are correct. You can store the rock and the fish in 5 gallon buckets or brute trash cans. Just make sure you put a small pump in there to keep the water circulated and the heater.
@Scott-cy6zv2 жыл бұрын
@@MyFirstFishTank Matt the fish and rock can survive in pails for upto 2 weeks with powerheads in the pails bud? And when I mix up fresh saltwater to add it new tank will fish be ok to add to that tank if I add my current rock and over 5 gallons of water I saved from this tank? I really appreciate your help. And am I better to go with 2 200 watt heaters or use one 300 watt heater for a tank this size?

Hey i just started my fish youtube channel do you have any tips you could share with me ?
@MyFirstFishTank2 жыл бұрын
Absolutely. Make videos and don't stop. They will probably be bad at first, but that's how you get better. When you feel like quitting, don't. Keep going even when nobody is watching your videos. Watch youtube videos on how to edit. Learn a new skill every week. Write an outline, and focus on the story. Gear doesn't matter, but as you can, slowly learn about lighting, cameras, and lenses, and upgrade over time.
