I think my favorite part of this is....she does all kinds of impressive vocal runs, but they all sound soulful and beautiful within the song and it doesn't sound like she is just showing off. Get Christina Aguilera(a massively skilled vocal talent, with little vocal taste) to sing this, and you'll hear all kinds of crazy runs, but it'll sound like exactly what it is....just showing off. Bottom line....this cover is amazing. Haley is awesome.

when I heard her sing darling at her audition, I predicted she would be in the finals. Told everyone who in know to watch Idol her. What amazed me the most was the rapid progress she made during the season 10 from the coaching she revceived . SHE SOOO TEACHABLE. I always said she is female Freddy Mercury --- they both could sing anything.

She is the only fucking proof we need that talent shows are crap and the most talented one hardly ever wins. She wasn't the best singer in her season, wasn't the best singer in AGT's history, isn't the best singer of her time. For me, she's the BEST SINGER OF ALL TIMES that I've ever heard. Try me, but for me a better one has yet to come. if I tell people this, they will show me old or dead singers that sing in a similar 'vintage' style, but Hayley owns a million of different styles and combines them all into a beautiful package with performance, voice, meaningfulness and character.

P.S. another favourite of mine is Tori Kelly with her vocal skills, flawless runs and unique voice, but what in my opinion makes Hayley stand out that tiny bit more is how unpredictable she is in the way which style she will pick for the next note, she has more to choose from. Makes it so damn interesting to listen to.

@frenziedmalady Thanks. Why would I crucify you? I don't deem The Animals as THE definitive yardstick for this song. Haley has done this song so many times and in so many variations - with this rendition, she now OWNS this song. She has a "problem" with her teeth/jaw such that she looks like she is smiling (while singing) even when she is not. Hence, some people may reckon she is not "connecting" with the song. But, she really is unique.
