All these years later, it's painfully obvious the producers threw every obstacle they could think of in her way; bad song options after her strongest weeks, forcing her into treacherous choreography during difficult songs, mentors who pretended to ignore her talent. Yet she kept going. She and Casey brought jazz to the show that year and it was a delight. So happy she found Postmodern Jukebox.

I later found out she was on American Idol, so I searched and found this video. I was very underwhelmed by what I heard here in comparison. She shouldn’t. She’s way way wayyyy better than the rest of the contestants!!! But that doesn’t mean she should have won this type of massive TV show. She ‘s the sexiest, most sophisticated female singer I know, but she belongs to a different place. Her amazing quality and extreme sophistication is not compatible with massive acceptance. Pop and Country is nice, it’s ok but a lot lower quality. It was a mistake to make her sing so many pop songs in this show. She would have had more chances staying where she trully belongs. She shines a lot there too of course but not as much as she does when she sings swing jazz or soul. She shines like the biggest star there. Shes like gold, but not for massive pop or country loving audience of todays world.

People didn't miss it when voting. It was the young adolescent females who always voted as a humongous power voting bloc that stole the show from Haley. Had American Idol not allowed power voting, the true winners of the shows would have always won. As those young adolescent females always power voted for only young white males to be the winners and regardless of their talent or more often lack thereof, and in season 10, they not only voted for the young white male as always but they also voted the female they were shipping him romantically with as the runner up well. Hence, Haley ended up finishing third. Nonetheless, if there had been no power voting allowed, Haley would have easily been the winner of the show and would have won the show in a major landslide. Which is why today most people still can't believe she actually lost. In fact, it was that power voting that American Idol foolishly allowed that eventually caught up with them and in which caused the show to come to an end.

Had there been only one vote per person, as opposed to almost unlimited power voting, Haley would have easily won American Idol in a major landslide.
@bullfrog5037 Жыл бұрын
@fotter9567 In a power voting system, anyone can vote as many times as one desires to vote. The power voting system that American Idol employed meant that young white male contestants inevitably won the show all the time because young adolescent teen age females throughout America would always pool together to form a humongous voting bloc and then always power vote for the cute white guys regardless if they were the most talented or not. In Haley's season 10, Haley finished in third place because of power voting. As that humongous young adolescent teenage female voting block, of course, right on cue, voted for Scotty McCreery first and also for Lauren Alaina second because they were shipping Lauren together with Scotty romantically. Haley, got left out in the cold at third place. Nonetheless, in season 10, Haley was easily the most talented contestant by far on the show that season, as she got more standing ovations than all the other contestants combined, and had there had been a "one vote per individual voting system" instead where everybody got to vote only one time for their favorite contestant, Haley Reinhart would have easily won American Idol in a major landslide. In fact, the only time that a female contestant won American Idol when the show was still on Fox after Haley was a contestant on American Idol was in season 12. However, the American Idol producers rigged that show so only a female contestant could win in season 12. As after the season 11 show where a young male contestant won the show again, a contingent of fans formed together and threatened to sue American Idol of sexual discrimination. Thus, America Idol responded by intentionally rigging the show in season 12 so only a female contestant could win the show. As every male contestant on the show in season 12 was voted off the show even before the first female contestant on the show was ever voted off. Hence, it was obvious that the season 12 season had been rigged by the American Idol producers so only a female contestant could win the show. As that was the only time the American Idol producers had rigged the show for that specific purpose that I'm aware of. Now also during Haley's season 10 show, the American Idol producers were deliberately trying to get Haley voted off the show for some reason since her very first live performance on the show. As they enlisted judge Randy Jackson to undermine as many of Haley Reinhart's performances as he could. Then when Randy Jackson miserably failed to get Haley voted off the show by the middle of the season, the American Idol producers also enlisted JLO too to join Randy Jackson in double teaming the undermining of Haley's performances and at that time, they also got far more aggressive in their attempts to undermine her. However, even after that, they miserably failed to get Haley voted off the show until that humongous contingent of young adolescent teenage females did them a favor and did it for them. Why the American Idol producers wanted Haley voted off the show from the very beginning? Who knows...probably because they felt she she was so talented it wasn't fair to the other contestants, or perhaps they thought they could get higher ratings for the show by getting her voted off. In any event, season 10 of American Idol is the season that had by far the most overall talent out of all 15 seasons on Fox. I don't include American Idol on ABC because it is a completely different show altogether. As the new American Idol isn't nearly as competitive as the old American Idol show on Fox was. The name of the show is the same, however, the show is not the same.

However, because some dumb low-information ignoramus just like you has filled her head full of garbage, she is unfortunately screwing herself and her family over, as opposed to building financial security for herself and her family while fulfilling all of her dreams at the same time. In my opinion, Haley was the best to ever perform on that show. If she were born in a different era, she'd have been a big star. Her vocal abilities remind me of Linda Ronstadt. I wouldn't pay a plug nickel to watch most of today's performers but I'd pay a lot more than that to watch Haley!

This girl had near flawless vocals throughout the entire show. Her soulful raspyness that she effortlessly is able to sing always gives me chills. A couple songs in particular that Haley ABSOLUTELY SLAYED were Bennie and The Jets & House of The Rising Sun, 2 of the best I've ever watched on AGT. I mean she has not only an amazing voice, but has exceptional stage presence with how she walks and moves her body. Also, GORGEOUS legs on this lovely lady! @@marapayne6207 Aubrey Logan is is sizzling form on that. However, It's difficult to compare them. Scott Bradley has worked his magic in the arrangement and the vocalist he chose. Haley's is a Rock version that sticks fairly closely to Elton John's original, but better in that Haley's voice is a lot better than Elton John's. Dammit, actually it would be great hearing Haley have a go at this song with Scott's arrangement. it would almost certainly be quite a lot different. @gynack5 жыл бұрын
d2pez1 Not in the same league for voice and talent. JLo knew how good Haley was and praised her until late in the series when Haley was performing so brilliantly. I don't think it was jealousy. She was just doing her job following instructions. The producers were worried about Haley derailing their pre-selected winners, and they needed to dampen the support for her. Let's face it; even Steven Tyler's praise of her was generally pretty low key compared to how he praised others, and Lauren in particular. However, it was good to see him having had enough of it and coming out so strongly for her after Earth Song, a brilliant performance completely rubbished by Randy, and negatively critiqued by JLo as well.

@jsrj985 жыл бұрын
Wow! Long time since I watched Haley's journey on Idol. Brings back a lot of memories. As one of her original 'Haliens', I'm so happy with where she is now as an artist, and that she is in control of her musical destiny! It was obvious at the time that she was a supremely talented vocalist-- and as a long-time watcher of the show, it's easy to say that she's in the top handful of the most talented singers to ever appear on the show. At the time I wanted for her to become a 'star', whatever that means, because she was so talented. While it would be fun to see her reach stardom, in the normal sense-- and, hey, that still may happen-- I have had the opportunity to see her in concert, listened to her songs on the radio, purchased her CDs in the record store, watched her rack up hundreds of millions of KZbin views, and listened to her voice countless times on TV ads. I'm happy that those of you who found Haley thru a different channel, can now see what brought her to fame. What you can't see thru this quick montage of her performances, is the real 'journey' she took. For instance, for many weeks in the beginning she was always close to getting voted off. Once she started gaining momentum, the judges (at least some of the judges) started to unfairly criticize her-- when it was obvious to everyone (including the other contestants-- some who publicly mentioned) that she was the most talented contestant. Even now it's hard to watch her best performances (some of which are recognized as among the best in the history of the show), knowing what the judges said, and the drama that unfolded on stage. Yikes. What you can't see are the incredible compliments the celebrity mentors-- Beyonce, Lady GaGa, Sheryl Crow among them, said about her. In later interviews, the vocal coaches and musical staff gushed about her-- how they were in awe of her vocal skills. Much of the public and the media were on her side, but she didn't win, and that's fine, really. But you can read the comments in here about how some are still mad that she finished 3rd, and the injustice-- I guess we carry a grudge more than Haley does herself! Of course, the voting strategy was different than in later years. Was she the most popular-- definitely?. We know that because at the time her KZbin videos were getting millions of views (they have since been taken down by Idol), many, many more than the other contestants. Lady GaGa let her sing an unreleased song, that later became a huge hit. Rolling in the Deep had started to dip in popularity until Haley sang it in front of tens of millions of viewers (at the time Idol was by far the most watched show on TV), and then magically it rose to #1 for a long time. Led Zepplin offered to let her sing one of their songs (with her dad playing guitar). At one point toward the end, she had FIVE performances (they released studio versions of them) simultaneously in the top 50 on the iTunes pop charts. Crazy! Haley could never then, and still now, be placed 'into a box' per se. Idol didn't know what to do with her at the time-- which is why the show didn't want her to win. Is she a rocker? Does she sing Jazz? Can she be a pop diva? All of those are true, as we now know. But Haley has now made enough money, and had enough success, to control her career. And that is definitely a good thing for her fans!

Great synopsis and spot on =) ... rewatched S10 recently and yeah ... I forgot how early on she was so close to being voted off, it was like a freaking cliff hanger performance after performance there for a while. In the really really early parts of the season they didnt really go into audition or story much even. And yeah judges were always picking on her. Although she did get the most standing o's =) ... she was simply the best really.. and still is. For me, during my years of watching idol Reinhart and Lambert are 2 of my favs. As far as her not winning I aint bitter in the least. I heard somewhere its better for their career if they dont win, in that idol doesnt "own" you.
@theblackdog23994 жыл бұрын
@John Theios, "I'm so happy with where she is now as an artist, and that she is in control of her musical destiny!" I'm not happy at all with the way Haley's career has turned out. As her music career, post American Idol, has turned out to be incredibly mediocre and it's all of her own damn fault. As Haley's career could easily be as big as Kelly Clarkson and Carrie Underwood. However, because she won't sign a record deal with a big major record label, the vast overwhelming majority of the public have never heard of Haley Reinhart, let alone ever listened to her music. As her music today isn't played on the radio and Haley never gets to appear on network TV shows or on music award TV shows. As it is only signed music artists whose music can be played on the radio or who can appear on countless network TV shows. Unsigned independent music artists like Haley, can't even get their music played on the radio, much less ever appear on network TV. Thus, as a consequence of her own stubbornness, Haley today remains a very obscure music artist hardly anyone has ever heard of. When it comes to talent level, Haley oozes talent galore. However, when it comes to business, Haley is a complete and utter basket case cause she hates it, and people who hate business aren't any good at it. Haley needs someone like Scooter Braun to run and manage her career for her. Where she can just dedicate her life to making music, being creative, and doing the things she loves to do.
@RandoTark4 жыл бұрын
@@theblackdog2399im perfectly fine with her popularity... because the smaller she is means more intimate settings for her concerts where i can stand ten feet from her beautiful voice :-) if she were a mega popular artist that would be nearly impossible. i love smaller venues :-) and maybe she doesnt wanna sign because she wants to make art/music her way and not some mega record company making her do crap she doesnt like. in other words i think shes willing to forego the popularity if it means more freedom of what she can do w/ her talents.
@theblackdog23994 жыл бұрын
In other words, Jason M, since you are incredibly greedy and want her all to yourself, you're perfectly content seeing her not build any financial security for herself and her family if that is what it takes for you to be able to see her in cheap dives and for relatively cheap prices. Okay, I got it, you're kind of a lowlife and cheap kind of guy. Not to mention, Haley writes her own music and the music labels cannot make Haley write music she doesn't want to write. It doesn't work that way. As a record deal has to be a win/win situation for both parties involved, the singer and the record label, for the agreement to work. In any event, in life we must all make compromises and sacrifices to get in life what we need out of life. Just cause a person is mega talented and a beautiful individual, it doesn't mean they are immune from making the compromises in life everyone of us must also make as well. Of course, Haley can forgo the necessary exposure required to make it big in the music business but not without incurring a very steep price. Which is financial security for herself and her family for generations to come. Which if you ask me is a very steep price for her to pay, but if that is what she willing to sacrifice, then more power to her. However, I promise you that when she loses her looks, which is inevitable in the not too distant future, and finds it far harder for her to make a decent living, some of those extremely dumb decisions she made when she was younger and dumber will come back to haunt her in a very hideous way she will wish she had thought about far more closely at the time.

@@theblackdog2399 Aye, when it becomes so obvious that it's all fixed, then people abandon the show in disgust. Blatantly idiotic critiques that Randy was routinely giving to Haley would be another nail in the coffin as well.

I forgot how good she looked with straight hair. She's beautiful and sings great. Reminds mof of some of the '70s singers like Grace Slick and more.

I remember watching her when I was little and my mom and I wanted her to win so bad. She has the best voice control hands down! My favorite song of hers is house of the rising sun ❤️ gives me chills every times 25:27
