A lot of the southern state prisons are located in small towns and ran by families, so it's not hard to see how this could lead to corruption. I've heard many stories of corrections officers murdering inmates/ making them fight to the death and covering it up. The level of corruption and the lack of accountability is insane. My uncle died in prison in Missouri, they did not inform the family but repeatedly told us he was in solitary confinement when we would show up to visit. He was dead over 1 year before they admitted it. They had had him cremated and disposed of the ashes, the worst part, he was held past his sentence end when he died. He was there an extra 4 months at that point.

I live in Northeast Mississippi and this is not surprising to me. The corruption and evil in our state is beyond comprehension at times. Human life has been completely disregarded in this case and everyone involved should be held accountable. I am sure there were dozens of evildoers who participated or knew about this. And yes, a federal investigation absolutely needs to be conducted. Why is there even a question on the matter? I figure the entire prison system needs to be closely examined because it would not surprise me if it doesn’t occur at other facilities as well. My heart goes out to the loved ones of these victims who were disregarded like this. These people are someone’s father, brother or son.

My dad is one of those bodies. Hit by a car and buried 3 and a half years ago. They identified him, had his whole name and said they couldn't find next of kin. A simple Google of his name would've provided plenty enough information to give us a call. We got his death certificate and all his identifying information was one typo off. If we looked for it that way we would have never known. If that one kind soul had not by chance seen his name and thought to reach out to us we would have never known. This was wrong, there was no excuse, I want justice for him and all the other families suffering with me.

True. The story itself is horrible and heartbreaking. But the other fact is to be honest, embalming a body is actually for worse for the environment than burying a body naturally. We have to be cautious when one of our older horses passes, did they pass on their own, did we have to have them euthanized, and what meds were they on. And we bury with a backhoe a min of 10 ft down and a min safe distance from water sources. But say if the vet has to euthanize our horse, same meds as with a dog or cat, they or horribly toxic, for years in the tissue and surrounding soil they leach into. So if a fox or loose dog would dig them up to chew on them, well…. Get the pic. So to argue how horrible the conditions they were buried in….. other than being to shallow and under despicable circumstances….. that one doesn’t hold water for me. Sorry…. I break everything down.

My father died in very mysterious circumstances in june 2021 in Mississippi State Petitionary. They claimed he fell off his bed and hit his head but never showed us the video. He was in the medical ward. They put him on life support, due to a restraining order I had on him, my younger sister had to decide to take him off of it. They did call us and they did allow us to have him cremated (his ashes are with my sister) but still there was the question of how.

In most states, the county buries indigent people (including prisoners) when they don't have family to pay for a burial. In most cases, there is no headstone. In New York City, the city government has an island (Hart Island) that is used only for burying indigent folks. They don't embalm the bodies. They just put them in cardboard boxes, and 20 or 30 are buried together in one big hole they dug with a backhoe. After 20 years, they dig another hole in the same place, and bury more people in the same spot. There's videos on YT about this, and some people found out months/years later their relative was buried there because the City didn't have any contact info for the dead person's family.

I lived in Mississippi for 7+ years and those people down there are THE most corrupt, uneducated, moral hypocritical trash I have ever seen. So glad to be out of there.

@@calebb231 these people weren't under arrest either. It just happens to be located behind a prison but they're not talking about prisoners. In the specific case they mentioned that gentleman was just walking to the store and was hit and killed by a police officer. They then buried him with this ID in his pocket behind the prison, and when his mother contacted these same police to report him missing they didn't even tell her.

Even if these people passed away from non violent stuff, they probably didn’t report the people to the state as 💀 so they could still get money for them
