@@amaliarr32That's unfortunately not always true. I know there are sweet pitbulls that are well cared for. But, there have been pitbulls that were raised right, showed no previous aggression and ended up mauling to death a family member or another person outside of the family. Or causing serious harm, removing large chunks of body parts. Too many of them will not just bite someone as a warning to a person. They set out to kill, to eat a person, to tear them apart. Pit bulls accounted for 82% of the attacking dogs in 2023, inflicting 92% of the 131 attacks on children, 58% of the 283 attacks on adults, 81% of the 69 human deaths, and 63% of the disfigurements. Later the number came in, 73 dog attack deaths in 2023 and 57 of the deaths were by pit bulls. It's a fact that there are dogs that are less likely to bite or attack a person or another dog, other pets. Many homeowners can't get insurance on their house if they have a pit bull. There are also other dog breeds on the banned list. Dog breeds that are more likely to bite also includes small dogs like chihuahua's for example. Different dog breeds do have different temperaments. It's just that a person has a better chance of surviving dog bites or dog attacks by certain dogs Pit bulls and pit bull mixes are involved in a significant portion of dog attack fatalities. Yet pit bulls make up only 6% of the dog population. Of course training dogs correctly, socializing them, providing a loving home is important too.

@@Karmen2010 Chihuahuas and Poodles are way, way more aggressive than pitbulls, and bite more people. But a bite from one of those miniature pop-eyed manic demon dogs rarely take someone off the census for good. It really is the case that it's down to bad owners rather than bad dogs, but everyone thinks they're a good owners and they can control their dogs. Until they can't. Labradors, as it happens, are pretty exceptional in their demeanour and it is hardly fair to compare any other breed with it, because they'll all come off second best. But pitbulls rank low on the scale of aggressiveness - even Collies are (much) more aggressive. Yeah, that's Lassie... but again, when a pittie goes off the rails, it's likely to have serious consequences.

I was attacked by a pit bull just recently and it was a completely UNPROVOKED attack! I was out in my front yard minding my own business when my neighbor had a friend come over who brought his pit bull with him. He had brought the dog several times before but never let him outside without a leash. He let the dog out to pee and as soon as it saw me it charged across my own yard snarling at me and tried to attack my legs. Thankfully I crouched forward in a defensive posture and when it lunged forward I punched down on top of its snout then it retreated back to its owner. I called the cops immediately but the guy heard my yelling and grabbed his dog and fled before the cops arrived. People who say “my dog never attacked anyone” need a dose of reality. NEWSFLASH… for every 1 pit bull that “ never attacked anyone” there are HUNDREDS that DO and even attack the hand that feeds them! They are a dangerous and aggressive breed and CANNOT be trusted!! As we started to pass the house the dog got on all fours and was ready to attack...To say I was terrified was an understatement. Well, not only was that neighbor a careless dog owner, he was also a alcoholic because there were about 4 or 5 40oz empty beer bottles on his curb. While I was shaking and crying my big brother told me to get behind him. My brother grabbed 2 beer bottles and broke the bottoms off with sharp edges and told me to do the same. Once that dog saw that we were ready, he sat his ass back down. My brother stood there and said "come on b**ch" finally, the dog ran to the backyard. If people train these crazy dogs to attack, they should be punished. Too many dogs of this kind are being trained the wrong way- owners at fault and the dogs do what they were trained. Idiots do this and should be held fully responsible. We need justifiable laws, not slaps on the wrist.

@@dionabradly6092 I'm sorry but within 3 days I have had countless of pitts attack shown in my feed. From little kids, to elderly, to owners, to complete unprovoked attacks from 'sweet and wouldn't hurt a fly' dogs. I'm not hating the breed, but one must admit as much as you love them they are breed to fight and will more then often attack and get aggressive even without being provoked. Worse they don't easily let go of their victim once they have bitten them... and afterwards. It's just horrifying. I'd say, love the dog, treat them right but never fully trust them no matter how good and sweet they seem. They are animals. They have instincts and triggers that don't follow human logic. Be careful and even more be careful of letting your dogs around others. One mistake, one trigger, one issue or miscalculation can easily cost someone their face or life.

Most of the times it's the owner's fault BUT there have been numerous cases where these dogs have been unpredictable and dangerous. Tell this to the CA Pitbull Association President who lost her life after her pitbull attacked and mauled her to death. I'm sure other dogs do this but my point is these dogs have more of a propensity to attack and seriously maul someone at any given moment.

Imagine if that'd been a small child. I love pits. I had one for 16 years. Most friendly, loving animal that I've ever seen. Then I had a male I had to put down at 1 year old because he just randomly became aggressive. The point is, it was up to me to make that choice after the second person he'd bitten because I couldn't bare the thought of something like this happening. Be a responsible pet owner, or don't have pets.

They’ve been bred for fighting, so when they get out of their puppy phase, they become the dog fighter they’ve been bred for. Most pit owners are not responsible like you were. I’ve had horrible experiences with these damn dogs & breeding them should be banned. Period.

I've been rescuing and rehabilitate pitbulls for over 20 years and people don't seem to get that these dogs for the most part DO NOT WANT TO FIGHT , MICHAEL VICK killed many who wouldn't fight and he tortured them I been bit by chow and a rottweiler but,never a pitbull . These dogs are bred by evil people who want to extort their strength ability for fighting ,Like I said in my over 20 years there only been 2 pitbulls I could not help and they sadly had be euthanized , they had endured so much abuse at the hands of the dog fighter that even in them getting along with other dogs the danger was their hate of men and distrust which I sure understood but still couldn't take a chance of someone being hurt either ..
@toryleeann85282 жыл бұрын
@@t.g.7180 They were bred for baiting larger animals. People that breed them to fight are called convicts and should be dealt with just like Vick. Most of the pits I've met were good dogs. Some are not. Just like people. And you have to take into account the idiots, like the man in this video, who get them and have no idea how to train or contain them properly.

Anyone who’s attacked by dogs is scarred for life, it’s terrible especially if people suffer from facial deformities. If you have dogs that you know are a threat to people, you’re a horrible person, you’re risking other people’s well being for a dog.

This breed is dangerous. I myself was ran up on by a pit. The owner could not control him. Fortunately, for me Yahweh was with me and his power held the dog at bay. The owner did get the dog and the police was called. After my encounter a woman I know of was walking down a sidewalk when two pits ran from behind their home and attacked her. Fortunately for her she lived, but sadly with great injuries. These dogs shouldn't be bred.
