Thank you I needed that, I've been playing for almost 3 years, and originally thought, I shouldn't worry about reading music until i can first use the darn sticks. ITS TIME😊 BUT ON A SIDE NOTE, THIS VIDEO MADE ME REALIZE WHY READING MUSIC IN Jr. High WAS SO EASY, IT WAS WRITTEN JUST FOR THE SNARE. BREAKING THINGS DOWN TO A SIMPLE SINGLE INSTRUMENT(SNARE DRUM), ACTUALLY HELPED MY WEIRD BRAIN UNDERSTAND A LITTLE BETTER ON THE OVERALL KIT NOTATIONS? THANKS AGAIN.

How do you know which drum/cymbal to use? how do you read the notes when multiple parts of the drum kit are being played at the same time?

In part 4 of this video-series, I'm gonna talk about just that! So stay tuned 😃

Two sixteenth and an eight note is one of the most popular note combinations for drum fills ever. Its equally great as a half measure, or a quarter measure fill on 4 to move you to the next measure.

Question for musicians - what's your thought process as you do this, I mean, do you count 1 e n a (or something else) as you do this and not play the rests or just "feel" it?
@ThatSwedishDrummer22 күн бұрын
When I started drumming (or when I practice something difficult for the first time), I count. But the more experience you get and the more you play, you learn to ”feel” everything you’re playing and you don’t need to focus on counting.

Did I hear you call the note stem a staff? What do you call the lines and spaces the notes go on?
@ThatSwedishDrummer Жыл бұрын
That's what you got from this? Geez...
