Just found this channel today and I already really enjoy your style of teaching. I've been trying to find 1 channel on KZbin that I can follow and tune out everyone else. Your comment about the abyss is spot on, I don't want to get overloaded with too much worthless info. Thank you.

Welcome to the channel! Really happy that you found it and please let me know if you have any questions along the way. Make sure you take your time and stay focused on the movements and you’ll see what you’re looking for. The abyss is REAL🤣

I love the realistic approach that requires people to put in the good practice exercises in order to improve. I don’t think anyone’s on YT with bad intentions, but it’s a bit silly to think a 10 minute video will have you hitting the center of the club face consistently. I’m taking in person lessons but seriously considering the online route. Thank you for the great content.

Been doing online lessons with Chris. Amazing response and very good actionable feedback. Lot of work (reflection of my terrible game, though)

I could not agree more! I don't believe that most golf instructors on this platform are ill-intended. I think most instructors are trying to compete for space because there are some VERY big marketing gorillas to contend with, and clearly they are not afraid to create a false sense of hope to golfers that actually want to get better. We're wired to find the fastest and easiest solution to problems and hearing something could work in 10 mins the next time your on the range...who wouldn't want to take that offer. The reality is the Band-Aid will get wet and it will fall off. Changing a patter is tedious but also very rewarding at the same time. Thank you for the really nice post and if you do ever want to take the plunge into online instruction, I'd love to work with you. Best - Ct

@@JoeyCarter-nf9yj I’ve tried personal lessons, Golftec and Performance Golf. Chris has been the only one so far that has really helped me. I’m a single digit handicap. You must be willing to work and do exactly what he says. Kinda like being married, although he’s a bargain compared to my wife! lol.

Thanks for another great video Chris. I am trying to follow the drill, but I am struggling to keep my trail leg flexed. Basically my lead knee is collapsing inwards at the same time as the trail leg straightens. Any tips on how to keep the trail leg flexed would be appreciated.
@MyGolfDNA3 ай бұрын
You can try and reduce the movement from the lead knee or you may need to isolate all together and just focus primarily on the trail leg function for several 100 reps. If that doesn’t work, come over to the website and let us take a look at it for you.

Hi Chris, super cool videos thank you very much! What do you think of Stack and Tilt? Some golf teachers on KZbin sell it as the holy grail. What do you think about that? I would be very interested in that. Maybe an idea for a Video 😉Thanks so much

Thank YOU. Asking for my opinion on a topic where there is a pretty large cult following of supporters is like walking me into a keyboard warrior buzzsaw! The internet warriors can be pretty ruthless but oh well, here goes… 1. I’m not going to do a public video on this. But I might post something like this on my website. Not a bad idea. 2. S&T has been around for many years and has provided a solution to those people that have struggled to compress or have never compressed the ball. Solid impact is what people are searching for. 3. I’ve worked with quite a few former students of the system and most have one very common thing to say as the reason for leaving. I’m not going to share this in a public forum unfortunately. 4. Even though we students and teachers shouldn’t care about what the best players in the world are doing, it’s pretty safe to say that you don’t/won’t see it used much at the highest level. 5. Plain and simple, golf instruction is so lost right now and it’s not going to get any better. It’s full of arrogance, bad information and no formal training on anatomy and kinesiology. There is also no real understanding of neuromuscular education from what I can see because most are still teaching simple solutions to complex problems. 6. Finally, my suggestion to any and all students out there exploring any methodology… Do educated research. Understand your own DNA, have a good instructor that can help you work on things in the correct order based on what you bring to the table and finally, get realistic goals and expectations in place before you start the journey of getting better at the game of golf. No one from Performance Golf is going to come out from behind a curtain and save your swing in 10 swings or less. I love to talk the golf swing, so if you or anyone else reading this response wants to discuss stuff further, we can set up a town hall meeting in a webinar format or something like that in the future. Just send me an email from the description so we can make a list or come over and join the website and I’ll show you how to work through a good system just for you. Not the masses.

@@MyGolfDNA Thank you for the detailed answer. I tried Stack and Tilt because my trainer suggested it. I always had a slight load in my right side at the start of my swing. Exactly as you describe it. It feels natural to me. After a few months of stack and tilt, this system still feels strange to me because it is very difficult for me to stay completely on the left side. Yes, I have good ball contacts but I can't be happy about it because of the unnatural movement. I work more on my natural swing with your videos again. At least it feels much smoother and easier for me. Thank you very much for your great way of teaching movements. I'll check your website soon. Keep it up and best regards from Germany

Chris, would you say that the backswing should start and be done by the rib cage/core and the hips go along for the ride? A full turn of core basically gets shoulders to 90 degrees and hips to 45 degrees. Seems that no hip turning makes it easier to keep knee flexed and closer to the desired position.
@MyGolfDNAАй бұрын
Yes, that’s exactly what I would advocate. You’ll need to slow the hips down though by keeping the right leg flexed and facing forward as much as you can so you can create good separation.
@robertg753826 күн бұрын
Is there any lateral hip movement at the start of the backswing? I know that you said "hip turn" several times! Just want to be sure. I am fascinated by that 1 inch move without sliding the shoulders across the chest that is my tendency. Thanks!
@MyGolfDNA26 күн бұрын
Yes! There should be a small amount of lateral hip movement to get things started. Couple back with rotation it won’t look like a big move at all.

Is a Live View camera ok to use for the drills? I get tired of having to check my camera all the time.
@MyGolfDNA3 ай бұрын
Absolutely. Use it until you start to become really proficient over the next few days. Then challenge yourself from time to time to do reps without having to watch the movement.
@bmatt7727272725 күн бұрын
150 reps a day. Do you start with 150 reps of step 1, and then when u have that bette, move to 150 reps of step 2? Or do you do 150 reps per day of steps 1, 2, 3?
@MyGolfDNA5 күн бұрын
150 reps per day on step 1 up to about 1000 reps. Then add in step 2 and do 1 and 2 together for 150 reps and so on.

Everything follows this takeaway. So pay attention carefully. Get it wrong & your swing will be inconsistent.
@MyGolfDNA3 ай бұрын
Yep. Gotta start the move in the correct order or the rest of the golf swing is very hard to get back into sequence.
