Dear Leah, I just saw this video, but I've had a great deal of respect for you a long time now. It's because, me being an NHRA fan for decades, And watching you kick-ass in top fuel, is what got my respect. I'm 60, and have seen them all come and go, but very few can achieve your level. I can respect that too. You go girl! " live long and prosper."

This Woman is a true leader… I say that because she includes not only those who have helped her along on her journey but says “US” and “WE” when talking about her performance. The TEAM is equally important to the overall mission of victory. She’s not making it all about her. Everyone involved in her success is sharing in the credits. Leah is a class act.

When Amanda asked her if she was proud.. I loved her response, that she's proud of people that helped her get to where she is... Also, I love her optimism when asked she was worried about it I'll going away and she responds if you would have asked me a number of years ago I would have all these things in my garage, I would say you're crazy (paraphrasing) -- somebody I always root for and somebody that seems like a very awesome great and humble person. She is the epitome of what drag racing is about, intensity, humbleness, happiness and competitiveness. It's my favorite thing about going to see all the people I know that raised right used to work for. :-) great video!

If you can find the video, unless her ex had it taken down.... You'll see her laid out flat on this guy's hands. He's supporting her with his hands one hand is supporting her back, the other hand is completely in her butt, probably why they got divorced...

I came so close to having a case of the optical squirts when she was talking about her father being there when she won. Emotional moment. I wish Ron could make an effort to be there for her. That was absolutely heartbreaking.

You make your own luck, and Leah was born lucky. Her dad, Ron, was at one time just another kid in a primered, over-carbed (tunnel ram on a 289) 65 Mustang cruising 'E' St. in San Bernardino, just like the rest of us. But Ron was *seriously* motivated and had THE perfect blonde girlfriend riding shotgun. Fast forward; the Mustang became an incredible show car...and then it was replaced by a Pantera, of all things, that got equal attention. By now IIRC, Ron was gaining attention from FoMoCo, and he rolled that into his Bonneville efforts while operating the best damn alignment shop in Redlands. I'm happy for Leah; as a fellow father I'm happy for Ron and Leah's mother.
Drag racing is truly a sport with champions of every race and gender. Leah has always been one of my favorites.

My point is to girls who are told it's for boys you can't do it .girls can and will if they want to work hard and commit .don't let anyone control your dreams .

As I was watching this vid., I had to pause to go do something, when I got back to watching, I noticed that at the 4:10 time frame it shows Leah wearing sunglasses with the brand name, "Von Zipper"! Now, here's the cool part, at least to me. As a kid in the 70s, and seeing that sun glasses brand name, it occurred/reminded me that that brand name, cannot just be, by accident. Those sunglasses must come from or in honoring the late Harvey Lembeck from the following I've copied & pasted to this comment. My learning a little about Leah Stewart and her being so influenced in the racing world, there's no way she could be randomly wearing those sunglasses and not have seen the old movies of "Beach Party" with Harvey Lembeck staring as "Eric Von Zipper.....hence the name on Leah's sunglasses"? Eric Von Zipper was one funny dude in that movie...lol! Wikipedia as follows..."Harvey Lembeck (April 15, 1923 - January 5, 1982) was an American comedic actor best remembered for his role as Cpl. Rocco Barbella on The Phil Silvers Show (a.k.a. Sgt. Bilko, a.k.a. You'll Never Get Rich) in the late 1950s, and as the stumbling, overconfident quasi-outlaw biker "ERIC VON ZIPPER" in beach party films during the 1960s. He also turned in noteworthy performances in both the stage and screen versions of Stalag 17." If only I really knew, that would be so Cool and tie into my theory of whether Leah wears that brand based on her also possibly watching and remembering that actor and his theme character?
