That’s how it was when I grew up. Dad had a drag car and couple street hot rods. We lived in a smaller area and every time he would get any of the cars out a wash them or load them up all the neighbors would come outside because they knew he was going to stripe the road up in front of the house. 😂

My stepdad used to build and race his own rally cars when I was a child, he particularly liked Opel Mantas. His favourite one which he kept for many years was and one I got many rides on was an Opel Manta 400, engine swapped with a supercharged 2L Cosworth engine, straight piped, that redlined beyond 9K rpm. It was deafening and the backfire was like grenades exploding. The neighbours always went mental when he let the engine "breathe" on the driveway.

By in large the absolute BEST sound EVER!!! Scott I noticed though you didn't turn the fuel pumps all the way to Full when she let the clutch out. I don't suppose its a lean condition when you open the throttle blades, I just usually see most teams release the clutch, hold the brake and fatten the fuel whether they blip the throttle or just let it idle while seating the clutches. I'd love to be your neighbor or in your vicinity.

Hey there. The car is equipped with an "All Valve" the fuel lever is pulled all the way on at the startup and left there till shutdown. This why the PROS start these nitro engines on methanol and after a few seconds they start the nitro pumps and it’s an audible sound difference when the change is made. Nitro is hard to get going on its own even with two magnetos that you can literally weld with. That’s why he’s pouring so much alcohol into the injectors with that bottle and it was barely enough to do the job. It’s lot easier using a methanol pumps first then once is running turn on those mega GPH nitro pumps, I’ve never seen it done this way before. But once it’s running there is not another piston driven engine that can match it in any category, I can’t even imagine how loud they are in N.C. at the 4 wide nationals, that has GOT to show up on earthquake meters somewhere.
