The Stauffer family has been mostly silent since they rehomed their former son earlier this year-but the controversy surrounding them hasn’t stopped.
In our last video on the Stauffer situation, we ended it with the news that Myka and James’ former son was safe with a new family.
But since that video was released in mid-June, more information has come out about the situation.

I’m a mother with 3 kids, one , my youngest is adopted. We don’t have “two children” and an “adopted child” we have three children. You don’t adopt a child and then abandon it, when you adopt a child you are that child’s PARENT. Some people make me sick

They didn't try to help him with his food anxiety, they punished him for crying for food and for thumbsucking, and frequently disrupted his routine and environment by travelling, moving homes and bringing a newborn baby into the family. Now, they're lowkey just blaming the child for his behaviour and their choice for "rehoming" him. I'm so glad he's with a real family now, these people are despicable.

@@Runzi333 Agreed! I found it so weird she said the DOCTORS told them to "rehome" him. What doctor would say that unless the child is neglected or abused? If they're a family who truly loved him and was going to do anything to help him, no sane doctor would say they're "not suitable". And the fact that they didn't finalise the adoption set off all the alarm bells. Like they hadn't planned on keeping him permanently.

She apologizes to those who looked up to her, but doesn’t seem to have remorse for her own ex-son. She also says things that should have ‘been private’ but I don’t think she cares about privacy considering how she makes her own children excruciatingly uncomfortable on camera.

It makes me so happy to hear he is now verbal with the new family... and hearing he is smiling while sitting peacefully on his/her/their lap. That is such a feat of greatness on the child’s part that I’m surprised he has reached. Those are great landmarks for any child with autism... nonetheless one that has gone through so much trauma. Thank you for informing us. 💕💕

Regardless of Myka’s excuses, they knew what they were getting themselves into. They were constantly warned with every bit of information about Huxley’s needs and they still adopted him. They wanted an “easy special needs child” she said so in an adoption group on Facebook. That’s how you know it was all about money for her. Hux didn’t make them just a few dollars, he made them THOUSANDS

As a disabled mother with a disabled child... This is absolutely heartbreaking to me. Every single day is a struggle in my home, both within my own body and while raising my son, but I wouldn't give it up for anything. I know that he's my biological child, so it's not exactly the same, but even if my son WASN'T mine biologically, even if he was adopted, I wouldn't just hand him off to someone else because he became too difficult for me. No matter how hard it got, that would still be my son, and I could never put him through that kind of trauma. When you adopt a child, you are agreeing to a lifetime of love, patience, and effort, just like you would if you had your own child. If you feel, at any moment, like you might need to or want to give away that child, you shouldn't adopt a child.
