I walk through the "explanation" video from Myka and James Stauffer. Here are the take-aways
1. It's Huxley's fault for being so damaged, they only shared 5% of how bad it was to "protect" Huxley
2. Their actions speak louder than their words
3. They're sorry they got called out for being bad parents
4. Influencers are the worst kind of people
5. Parents who exploit their children for social media status can F all the way off

My adoptive parents adopted me when I was 3, and “gave me back” when I was 10, to the foster care system. I never found a “forever family” and ended up aging out of care. I cannot thank you ENOUGH for creating this feedback. Dissolution is real. The Stauffer’s will continue to live their life both online and off. Huxley’s birthday will come and go, holidays will pass and it will be as if he never existed in their lives to begin with. The dissolution will be with Huxley for the rest of his life. My parents said much the same things these assholes said, except there was no camera to record the fall out. As an Adoptee from a Dissolved Adoption, thank you for putting the burden directly where it needs to be, The Stauffer’s.

My mother is textbook NPD and she tends to have VERY unstable relationships with men who are complete doormats. Narcissists look for significant others that don't fight them on *anything*, defer to them and their judgment and are eventually sucked dry and damaged irreparably by it all (financially and emotionally). I definitely think her husband should share the blame, but to me, his role in this comes from a place of cowardice and conforming to his wife's wishes under any circumstances. He probably *actually does feel like shit* over this, unlike her, who is only pretending to. Just not enough to have protected his son apparently.

litl giblet if it really was too hard to keep him, then she would be explaining how hard this would be for Huxley to transition into a new home. How his life is now turned upside down, and they need people to support him finding a family that truly loves him for who he is. She would be saying, he will always be my son to me, and still call herself a mommy of 5. If this honest to god was a traumatic reason they had to let him go. But I still call bullshit, a mothers love is unconditional no matter who their baby is or what they have. She would have never given him up if she loved him from the start. He was never her “son”. 😔

@Evilfuzzl224 4 жыл бұрын
skyward360 she had AMPLE money, living in a massive house with everything in the home the best of the best. She had sponsorship after sponsorship so the money was not running dry. How else could they afford a lavish vacation to Bali? So the money and ability to take Huxley to a therapist and specialist was available. The key is, they didn’t want to. They wanted a kid with special needs and when they got him, they realized how hard it is to be there for their needs. And it bothered them, he took away from their Insta/KZbin perfect life. He wasn’t perfect. And that breaks my heart in two, he couldn’t help anything. He was a baby, still learning to function as a human. He needs proper care and attention at all times, so they should have never adopted him. They weren’t capable to handle him. The new baby took his spot and his memory is erasable ☹️💔

You don’t “rehome” children. I work in this field. It’s not a thing. You abandon them and the state finds a new family once they obtain custody. This kid is in foster care. It’s called officially called “refusal to accept parental responsibility” and relinquishing your parental rights means yours rights are terminated. Only good thing is it should bar them from being able to adopt again. Let us pray. As an adopted person myself with adopted siblings with disabilities, this is beyond inexcusable. When their kids grow older, they will never forgive them for GIVING AWAY their sibling. Huxley deserves way better than them.

I am an adoptive mother, my son has autism. I totally agree with you. What adoption agency is it that accepts "rehoming" of a child that already is adopted??? Why wasn't some state agencies reacting to the fact that the parents suddenly were refusing or not coping with parenthood to this boy? Should be no difference in treatment of adoptive parents and biological If we fail to be parents, there is no such thing as "giving a child back" to the adoption agency - or the hospital where you gave birth to it.

I feel like medical society is learning more about how abusive parents can be. Just finished up bingeing the Gypsy Rose case. I think Huxley was set up with a new family because the parents have narcissistic personality disorder. They have a history of fraud, assault, and exploitation of children. Willingly giving Huxley to a new home prevents these two from getting caught in a CPS case that would also damage their bio kids.

Huxley sounds like a pretentious name for a pet :P Also knowing that he is going to have a hard time readjusting again to another environment . it just :'( he needs much more yes, much more of your time, attention and acceptance.I have a younger sibling with Aspergers and I remember being really really jealous of how my mum spent more time with my sister i thought that she loved her more but i didnt understand that she needed more attention because she learns slower than others? plus my mum couldnt afford to pay for her to go for therapy session or attend a school with facilities and teachers who are trained to teach children with aspergers. My mum was already struggling to work to pay bills on top of that she has to take care of us make sure our homework was done and do the house chores. Felt that she should have read up and know what shes signing herself up for

I agree, all the monies donated needs to go to the child or returned. I think about the house they bought with the income they earned from Huxley’s story and image too. I’m not suggesting they go homeless but the house should be sold or they need to come up with a percentage that again goes into a trust fund for Huxley. The thing that pisses me off most is the sneakiness. It took concerned followers asking what happened to Huxley (where is he!) or they would have said nothing, swept him under the rug and moved on as if he never existed. That’s some really shady stuff and they deserve to be in hot water, I have no sympathy.

I’ve been struggling to have a child. Being low on fertility, having miscarriages for 8 years. I adopted my little girl and I don’t need a biological child, she is my world. She threw fits, she would scream especially when it was bath time she hated bath time. I adopted her when she was 4, she was so scared and angry. But I knew she has been through so much. She trusted me after a month and a half (I used ice cream, I would eat ice cream with her and watch cartoons) and when she stopped calling me maam and called me mom.. I cried. I love my daughter nothing she could have ever done would have made me hurt her they way they hurt Huxley. now she sings to me as she does my hair. It’s been 5 years since I’ve adopted her and every time I hear mama come her mouth I feel the same way I felt that day. I still tear up sometimes but we laugh about it and she says “mama you are such a baby” she’s so happy. Her smile, i couldn’t imagine not seeing her smile everyday. If the eating situation was sooo bad, why wouldn't Mykka do more research and let him watch those eating videos. It may sound wierd, but autism is a very intense condition.. My nephew is autistic & things that mean nothing to me, he may be obsessed with.. Anyway. What is wrong with people. He is not a fucking toy. He needed more. So you can't give more love and find what comforts him . No they wanted to travel and he was messing up THE LIVES HE MADE RICH! and protecting him.. Huxley will see this one day. They should delete. Even if it was a “safety” issue against them or one of their other kids from Hux. The kid has disabilities. He’s very young still so therapy is NOT going to work right away. Those types of things take YEARS to get under control. They are the parents in the household. They are totally responsible in the end. Those are some horrible “parents”. There’s other instances where her bio kids are sucking their thumbs freely but Hux had duct tape on his fingers?! I’m sure that wasn’t the only thing they did to him. Hux is honestly better off away from these people and I hope they’re miserable for what they’ve done to that little boy.

My son has autism and these two remind me of a preschool we sent him to. His therapist and I were careful to explain about his special needs to see if they felt able to take him on. (For two hours a day, two days a week.) They were enthusiastic for the first couple of months and it seemed a good fit, but when he wasn’t “cured” within six months, they got nasty. I took him out of there instantly. He’s going to a wonderful school now that meets his needs. This couple seem to be the same as that preschool. They resent Huxley because he wasn’t “cured” by their showy so-called “love” within a given amount of time. Stupid, self-centred narcissists. The poor boy didn’t fit in with their narrative. He deserves so much better.

One thing that really bothered me was they said “there were more needs than were disclosed” when you have a baby of your own biologically you don’t know what kind of issues they’ll have!! It’s the same thing. Children don’t come with a manual that says “when the child turns 2 they will develop a biting issue” no!! That doesn’t mean you give up on your child. It means you work harder to provide them with the love and care they need and deserve.

1. I hate how he says at the beginning that Myka “tried so hard” with Huxley - not “we”. 2. Anita Miron uploaded a video where she discussed that in a video, Myka refused to pay $700 for a therapist for Huxley, and instead chose a cheaper option. Evidently not taking care of him to the best of their ability considering their wealth and income. 3. I’m confused as to whether it was before they had abandoned Huxley or after, but they took a family trip to Bali WITHOUT HIM. They have a child that is younger than Huxley and one that is the same age that both went, yet he didn’t. Obviously a divide between biological and adopted :( 4. They are financially secure. They have unlimited resources. Myka’s a nurse! They were in the best possible position to offer Huxley what he needed! Totally agree with you. 5. Privacy. I think you summed it up perfectly. Also, if the struggles they showed were only miniscule, I would hate to see how they dealt with Huxley’s major struggles. “Are you done now?”, along with complaining how difficult he was.

I strongly feel that they clearly off-camera treated Huxley either poorly or as significantly less important, loved, or wanted than their own kids. And as messed up as it is to say, it probably wasn’t because he had special needs, I’m sure it was mostly bc he is Chinese/a different race. If he were white & a little more cookie-cutter for these narcissistic pieces of trash, they probably would have had a bit more of an attachment. They strike me as the type of people who probably treated him like he was a nuisance they were babysitting & like put him to bed early so they could have time away from him to spoil and be with their “real” kids. Does that make sense? Edit: It turns out they literally did put him to bed early every night so they could do things with their bio kids, James said it himself in at least 1 video.

Huxley didn't need help, he needed understanding which self obsessed Myka and James refused to do.

True. Huxley needed a mother and father not saviours. It was clear from the start when they wanted to adopt a special needs child, they were looking to be some sort of saviour swooping in to save a child but in reality a child needs love and care not rescue.

True. He needed understanding, empathy and compassion, things they clearly are not capable of.

My husband said the same thing ...he thought it was so suspicious that they were wearing white and surrounded by a white backdrop...they are trying to claim their innocence. It's all ghastly!💔😢

Yes I notice KZbinrs always do this when they do “hard” videos. No makeup, glasses etc. like they’ve been suffering so long when just days before they posted happy bright stuff. Definitely intentional.

The whiteness has to do with the fact that I would bet they are Mormons. Whenever you see large families and they are all in white, it's a dead giveaway.

Recently my daughter was turned down after applying to adopt a child she knew (not for any bad reason just the social workers found a better fit for all involved). Our hearts are sad we aren't adding to our family but happy for the new family and child. The social worker asked permission to add the fact that we all REALLY REALLY wanted them to their life story book because and I quote "it's really important to feel wanted. Growing up knowing they were loved and wanted even when they can't actually remember it will make them happy" Huxley has the exact opposite situation and it makes me so sad.

This made me cry, I'm glad there are people who truly have the children's futures in mind, unlike these people who only see them as they are now, and how they can benefit from them.

What’s so awful too is because of their choices to put him all over the Internet there’s no escaping that reality for him either. No way he won’t know (and that’s assuming he won’t remember this-my earliest memory was a terrible trauma that happened to me at 3 so... and my own mother decided I was too young, didn’t need help dealing with it because I wouldn’t remember it... I grew up having nightmares about it.) Just heartbreaking. But that all said, thank you for sharing your story. It’s great to hear about an adoption where while it didn’t go quite as your family wanted, the end result truly sounds like the best for the child. And I love knowing the social worker took that extra step to make sure the child will never doubt how wanted they were.

I keep saying this: They didn't get attached to him. This isn't about his mental health, it is about their inability to get attached. Who else would care if the kid stares at them while eating? I've got 5 kids, 5 cats, and 3 dogs. I might as well be a Mukbang when I eat. And their crying is bs.

Xaneria Ann I know right. My two boys follow me to the toilet every single time. I don’t even bother shutting the door cause I know they’ll be there as soon as my butt hits the seat lol. I actually laugh sometimes because I’m like ‘how is it enjoyable watching me do my business on the toilet’ 😂. And don’t get me started on food.. doesn’t matter how well fed my kids are, as soon as I’m eating, my food becomes their food haha.
