I cannot thank you ENOUGH for creating this feedback. Dissolution is real. The Stauffer’s will continue to live their life both online and off. Huxley’s birthday will come and go, holidays will pass and it will be as if he never existed in their lives to begin with. The dissolution will be with Huxley for the rest of his life. You don’t “rehome” children. I work in this field. It’s not a thing. You abandon them and the state finds a new family once they obtain custody. This kid is in foster care. It’s called officially called “refusal to accept parental responsibility” and relinquishing your parental rights means yours rights are terminated. Only good thing is it should bar them from being able to adopt again. Let us pray. As an adopted person myself with adopted siblings with disabilities, this is beyond inexcusable. When their kids grow older, they will never forgive them for GIVING AWAY their sibling. Huxley deserves way better than them.

I am an adoptive mother, my son has autism. I totally agree with you. What adoption agency is it that accepts "rehoming" of a child that already is adopted??? Why wasn't some state agencies reacting to the fact that the parents suddenly were refusing or not coping with parenthood to this boy? Should be no difference in treatment of adoptive parents and biological If we fail to be parents, there is no such thing as "giving a child back" to the adoption agency - or the hospital where you gave birth to it.

My mother is textbook NPD and she tends to have VERY unstable relationships with men who are complete doormats. Narcissists look for significant others that don't fight them on *anything*, defer to them and their judgment and are eventually sucked dry and damaged irreparably by it all (financially and emotionally). I definitely think her husband should share the blame, but to me, his role in this comes from a place of cowardice and conforming to his wife's wishes under any circumstances. She would be saying, he will always be my son to me, and still call herself a mommy of 5. If this honest to god was a traumatic reason they had to let him go. How else could they afford a lavish vacation to Bali? So the money and ability to take Huxley to a therapist and specialist was available. The key is, they didn’t want to. They wanted a kid with special needs and when they got him, they realized how hard it is to be there for their needs. And it bothered them, he took away from their Insta/KZbin perfect life. He wasn’t perfect. And that breaks my heart in two, he couldn’t help anything. He was a baby, still learning to function as a human. I agree, all the monies donated needs to go to the child or returned. I think about the house they bought with the income they earned from Huxley’s story and image too. I’m not suggesting they go homeless but the house should be sold or they need to come up with a percentage that again goes into a trust fund for Huxley. The thing that pisses me off most is the sneakiness. It took concerned followers asking what happened to Huxley (where is he!) or they would have said nothing, swept him under the rug and moved on as if he never existed. That’s some really shady stuff and they deserve to be in hot water, I have no sympathy.

I’ve been struggling to have a child. Being low on fertility, having miscarriages for 8 years. I adopted my little girl and I don’t need a biological child, she is my world. She threw fits, she would scream especially when it was bath time she hated bath time. I adopted her when she was 4, she was so scared and angry. But I knew she has been through so much. She trusted me after a month and a half (I used ice cream, I would eat ice cream with her and watch cartoons) and when she stopped calling me maam and called me mom.. I cried. I love my daughter nothing she could have ever done would have made me hurt her they way they hurt Huxley. now she sings to me as she does my hair. It’s been 5 years since I’ve adopted her and every time I hear mama come her mouth I feel the same way I felt that day. I still tear up sometimes but we laugh about it and she says “mama you are such a baby” she’s so happy. Her smile, i couldn’t imagine not seeing her smile everyday. I’m not ready for her to go to college even though it’s years away

It’s the same thing. Children don’t come with a manual that says “when the child turns 2 they will develop a biting issue” no!! That doesn’t mean you give up on your child. It means you work harder to provide them with the love and care they need and deserve.

My son has autism and these two remind me of a preschool we sent him to. His therapist and I were careful to explain about his special needs to see if they felt able to take him on. (For two hours a day, two days a week.) They were enthusiastic for the first couple of months and it seemed a good fit, but when he wasn’t “cured” within six months, they got nasty. I took him out of there instantly. He’s going to a wonderful school now that meets his needs. This couple seem to be the same as that preschool. They resent Huxley because he wasn’t “cured” by their showy so-called “love” within a given amount of time. Stupid, self-centred narcissists. The poor boy didn’t fit in with their narrative. 1. I hate how he says at the beginning that Myka “tried so hard” with Huxley - not “we”. 2. Anita Miron uploaded a video where she discussed that in a video, Myka refused to pay $700 for a therapist for Huxley, and instead chose a cheaper option. Evidently not taking care of him to the best of their ability considering their wealth and income. 3. I’m confused as to whether it was before they had abandoned Huxley or after, but they took a family trip to Bali WITHOUT HIM. They have a child that is younger than Huxley and one that is the same age that both went, yet he didn’t. Obviously a divide between biological and adopted :( 4. They are financially secure. They have unlimited resources. Myka’s a nurse! They were in the best possible position to offer Huxley what he needed! Totally agree with you. 5. Privacy. I think you summed it up perfectly. Also, if the struggles they showed were only miniscule, I would hate to see how they dealt with Huxley’s major struggles. “Are you done now?”, along with complaining how difficult he was.

Those types of things take YEARS to get under control. They are the parents in the household. They are totally responsible in the end. Those are some horrible “parents”. There’s other instances where her bio kids are sucking their thumbs freely but Hux had duct tape on his fingers?! I’m sure that wasn’t the only thing they did to him. Hux is honestly better off away from these people and I hope they’re miserable for what they’ve done to that little boy.

True. Huxley needed a mother and father not saviours. It was clear from the start when they wanted to adopt a special needs child, they were looking to be some sort of saviour swooping in to save a child but in reality a child needs love and care not rescue.

I keep saying this: They didn't get attached to him. This isn't about his mental health, it is about their inability to get attached. Who else would care if the kid stares at them while eating? I've got 5 kids, 5 cats, and 3 dogs. I might as well be a Mukbang when I eat. And their crying is bs.

WHO GETS UPSET AT THEIR KIDS FOR WATCHING THEM EAT. this is so gross. also, when you give birth to a kid, you dont know all the issues the kid may have. but most parents still adapt and care for their kid? why is it different for an adopted kid? because they dont see him as a person.
@bdazzld4 жыл бұрын
Right?! That’s part of my sons therapy. Apraxia makes it so he doesn’t even know how to chew. It’s not automatic. I literally have to demo eating and chewing for him every day. That’s how all kids learn. This kid was trying to learn more about his surroundings and all they felt was intruded upon :(

My grandma adopted my father, who is autistic, in the sixties. He was four years old when his biological mother gave him to the system. @@xueiyuu One would have hoped, but unfortunately even though he was so young, it kind of ruined him, and he passed his hurt on to my siblings and I. He has never acknowledged his autism because of this, and because of that he has refused to believe his sons diagnosis. He's very distant, and his nickname in the family is 'stone face' because he shows no emotion to anyone. But mostly he has never (maybe on the rare occasion) told me and my siblings that he loves us and if I were to guess that comes from the hurt caused by loving a parent so much only for that parent to hurt him so hard 😕😓 Tbh this is kind of why the Huxley and Stauffer family situation has made me feel a passionate rage that I have never felt before. Beyond also having a special needs child, and working as a respite worker for children with autism so I kind of know they're talking some bs

Recently my daughter was turned down after applying to adopt a child she knew (not for any bad reason just the social workers found a better fit for all involved). Our hearts are sad we aren't adding to our family but happy for the new family and child. The social worker asked permission to add the fact that we all REALLY REALLY wanted them to their life story book because and I quote "it's really important to feel wanted. Growing up knowing they were loved and wanted even when they can't actually remember it will make them happy" Huxley has the exact opposite situation and it makes me so sad.

What’s so awful too is because of their choices to put him all over the Internet there’s no escaping that reality for him either. No way he won’t know (and that’s assuming he won’t remember this-my earliest memory was a terrible trauma that happened to me at 3 so... and my own mother decided I was too young, didn’t need help dealing with it because I wouldn’t remember it... I grew up having nightmares about it.) Just heartbreaking. But that all said, thank you for sharing your story. It’s great to hear about an adoption where while it didn’t go quite as your family wanted, the end result truly sounds like the best for the child. And I love knowing the social worker took that extra step to make sure the child will never doubt how wanted they were.

In that statement is the blame shift and the attack on Huxley! Narcissistic trash.

There’s literally another Facebook post somebody found out there were they mentioned looking to adopt again, and they wanted to know what special need was easy to deal with that everyone else doesn’t think it’s easy. To me it’s like she wants the sympathy for adopting a special needs child, (and the followers that come with it) without the actual work of having a child with special needs. That’s just my perspective as a special needs trained preschool teacher, who deals with special needs 2-5 year olds.

I completely agree. They just wanted the “perfect Instagram story” but never really included him into their family. As he says in this video, he was a guest. She was way in over her head and was selfish, thought this would make her Instagram/KZbin famous and gain more followers without really understanding how much work goes into it. Another thing is she never once admits any blame. She always tries to pin everything on Huxley and as if it was all his fault the adoption didn’t work out. He’s under 5 years old with special needs!!! This just gets me so heated. She should never be allowed to adopt again.
