I think this is fantastic guidance. I just would like to gently point out that sometimes starting a question with "why" can sound a bit judgemental and put someone on the defensive. Maybe using the phrase, "tell me more" would be a little more friendly. Otherwise, love your ideas here. 😊

Interesting. People I meet at events and parties run this gambit on me all the time. I always thought it was an interrogation technique by others to determine if you are someone they care to maintain contact with, you know...speed flush out what kind of job and friends you have, but now I see its a conversation starter. Are not I the fool. LOL. Thanks for this video and educating me. The technique works though. Always makes for a good intelligent conversation with a rhythm.

I’m trying to think of examples for what I could ask other mom friends. “What did your family do to keep busy during the pandemic? Why is your pet snake so active? How did you get your children to not fall down the stairs all the time with no baby gate? I’m impressed at how well you can handle your little ones after such a busy day at work.”

You could ask Where do you see the industry going, or Where do you see yourself in the next few years . If you ask where do you live it's obvious the answer will be one word, if you ask What do you do for a living you can also get a one word answer

Thank you for the tips! I have a question about the continental style. If you are eating a dish that doesn't require cutting (risotto etc) in a formal setting, do you just hold the fork in your left hand and forget about the knife? Thanks!
@mykameier74744 жыл бұрын
YES! you got it. If you don't need the knife, you never pick it up to begin with and just use the fork, dominant hand, prongs up!

Great video, but I don't agree on excluding "Where", as it could naturaly lead to an open ended question. Example: - Where do you live? - Chelsea. - How come you decided to move there?
