Growing up, the gymnasts I looked up to were "good girls" who got straight As, weren't allowed near boys, and were totally obedient to their coaches. It is so cool to see you, a 20 something, married to a very supportive husband, working in a partnership with your coach - going after your goals. It makes me so happy that little girls have athletes like you and Simone as role models.

Hey, did you know you should be eating simple sugars within 20 to 30 minutes of completing a workout while the muscle is like a sponge? Then you have at least a couple hours for protein synthesis, so can eat protein or a meal including protein. It's that timing of getting the glycogen restored by eating carbs right after a workout that helps your legs not feel dead the next day. So you should have some chocolate milk while you stretch :) source: competed internationally as a trampolinist, have an exercise science degree, wrote papers on this subject, and am a nutrition coach. Loved your video, keep em coming!

Can I ask you how chocolate milk helps? Cuz I like it but consider it a treat, but I'd like it if it was benifisial 😊
@MyKaylaSkinnerOfficial4 жыл бұрын

@@graciesgymnastics4947 there are a ton of articles that show how it can help with glycogen replacement for better recovery. journals.lww.com/acsm-csmr/fulltext/2011/11000/Glycogen_Replenishment_with_Chocolate_Milk.16.aspx

Some studies also show that having a mix of protein and carbs within 20-40 min is also really beneficial! If o remember correctly the glucose in carbs help transport the protein in the cells at a higher rate within that time frame since the glut transport protein is at a higher level in the bloodstream. I forget the exact science
@kelliknight1264 жыл бұрын
@@lilcuty1492 from what I learned in school, ideally, less protein helps the body to digest the carbs faster thus speeding up glycogen storage. So that's why the 20 to 30 minutes is good for just carbs or mostly carbs, while we have 3 hours for protein synthesis.

She is just fine with what she is eating. Restrictions arent really necessary when you're working out like this every day. She doesn't have a weight issue.... let her splurge!
@shayvecc78494 жыл бұрын
@@jojox9791 Hi! I am a certified nutritionist and trainer. I specialize in performance based nutrition. Nutrition for an elite athlete is not about a "weight issue." An elite athlete needs to fuel their bodies for work, like a race car needs gas. Also, intense exercise releases free radicals that destroy joints... joints that are already inflamed by an extreme training regimen. Free radicals and inflammation can be combated with proper nutrition. Sugars and dairy are known to further inflame the body, leading to more joint pain. So, yes. Most nutritionist, trainers, coaches, and athletes at higher levels would say that restrictions are necessary. Not to restrict caloric intake, but to properly sustain bodies for continued training, recover from daily workouts, and to maintain health and prevent injury. I was in no way referring to her body. And splurging is nice, but comes at a price, and is typically not encouraged while training for the Olympics.
