I have a theory about the yawning, based on my experience as a ballet dancer. You hold your core so tight for so long, you don't breathe quite as much as your body wants you to, then between things, you yawn to catch up.
@kayeng29423 жыл бұрын
Wow! Great theory. No wonder everyone always asks me whether I am getting enough sleep... its from gymnastics!
@queerkingsmith37013 жыл бұрын
yawning happens when you aren't regulating your breath well enough, so you're correct in a sense. it happens with singers, too, when they're holding their breath/not supporting through their back. as a ballet dancer, too, i know a lot of us practice alexander technique to stop this (i grew up with romanian ballet teachers that would literally smack you for yawning and sneezing lol).

you're looking so awesome with your gymnastics MyKayla! its soooooooooo good to see. I LOVE that there are 'older' gymnasts still / back in the sport. I truly believe 'older' gymnasts is the way of the future for gymnastics. Not pressuring gymnasts to peak by age 16 has to be 1000% better for their bodies. Allow gymnasts to mature, gain the extra strength going through puberty gives women the durability, LESS INJURIES, and allows them to mature emotionally and mentally as well. All of which has to be a lot better for those in the sport. Its becoming more and more apparent the 'old' way of approaching gymnastics (young, pre-pubescent girls) had a lot more to do with controlling athletes (in order to exploit them), make them 'more compliant', than it was to do with 'better gymnastics' in the true sense of the word. No one seems ot have questioned the fact MALE gymnasts have strong bodies that allows them to get great skills - yet female gymnasts are SUPPOSEDLY 'better' if they are tiny and petite.
