Starting to build the front storage hatch / deck for the front cockpit. I'm really happy with how this is coming out! Dude you have no idea how helpful you’ve been. I am not completely new to this but even still you explain it well enough for beginners and experts alike. I do have a question about why stripping the boat is necessary as apposed to just pressure washing and priming it but that’s a question for a different video. Thanks!!

Looks good man, suggestion. You may need more support on that ply wood in the front . Once you put a hatch the sides of the plywood will cave in forsure . Maybe if you used 3/4 inch might get away without but id definitely add supports under especially if you are going to stand on it ! Cheers

Looks good good I’m gonna do the same next weekend hopefully ! What experience do you have with float pods ? I wanna put some on my 14-36 but the way the boat is I have 1/4 plate covering the outside for support. It doesn’t go all the way side to side but if I wanna mount pods will it matter if I mount them not flush with the sides ? In two inches on each side ? Thanks !

I have a few videos on the channel dedicated to adding pots to my 1648 build. They worked really well! The pods do not have to mount flush with the sides, they just can't be sticking out. As long as they are 100% behind the transom you would be good.

Quick question for you. I have a 1648 jon boat with a 40hp merc and about 6 different electricals (fish finder, trolling motor, lights etc). I have 2 dual purpose batteries and a deep cycle battery. Would I be able to run the 1 dual purpose battery for all my needs? Have a dual purpose battery as my cranking and use the deep cycle? Run 2 dual purpose? I wanna find a usage for these rather than drop more money on a sole starting battery and have 2 batteries for waste

I would not use one battery for everything including a starting battery. I would keep the starting battery to itself and maybe just the fish finder to reduce interference.
