Myles Kennedy & James LaBrie Talk New Albums!

I can't believe I stumbled on this. I thought I was crazy with these two polar opposite bands (and vocalists) being my two favorites, and here they are together complementing each other's records. When "Fortress" and "Dream Theater" came out within that close of a time frame of eachother, it was like Christmas. This is beautiful!

Both albums were amazing, both bands are great, and this video is awesome! I think that "Fortress" is AB's best album to date; it has a lot of prog elements, which I, as a DT fan, really appreciate.

Love both these guys. Cool singers and really down to earth guys. Met James on a meet and greet and behind the amazing Portnoy he was the one that made most effort- thought he was very amenable to the fans.

for me, I love Dream Theater and Alter Bridge. They are in my top 5 favorite bands of all time. To say one band is better than the other is just ridiculous cause I like them the same but in different ways, for me personally, I'd say myles kennedy I like more, although James in his prime was equally as good. Instrumentally, I love both, but I'm sorry, Mark Tremonti is nowhere as good as John Petrucci. Dream theater is creative and kinda all over the place, whereas Alter Bridge is more simple but catchy as hell. Not a single song I dislike from either band. They should definitely tour together though. That'd be a dream come true!

Awesome assessment of both bands. I agree with everything you said. They are my two favourite bands of all time. And I'd love to see a co-headlining tour of both bands! I think I'd just wet my pants if that actually happened though ahah Anyway, I'm seeing DT for the first time in three days time! I bought VIP Meet & Greet tickets, so it should be amazing! I've been lucky enough to see Alter Bridge four times already and managed to get to meet Mark. Hopefully I'll get to meet Myles one day as well :D

IMO Tremonti is just as good as JP or he's better. At leads they are on a same level, but rhythm wise Tremonti wins. He was named as the Guitarist of the decade too. The thing is Mark Tremonti doesn't try to be technical like JP always because songwriting is his first thing.

For me Alter Bridge are number 1 and Dream Theater are a close second. Obviously DT are the far more technically advanced and progressive of the two bands, but I just really appreciate the "tightness" of Alter Bridge's music. Anyway, good to see that lots of people can appreciate both bands simultaneously. I'll agree with your assessment that Alter Bridge are at least in junior high haha

Elliot Cameron Dream Theater is genious group!!! Alter Bridge is only a very good band. Don´t compare a Great Progressive Band!!!
