This is the song that eased me through some dark times. I owe it to Rónán and Myles. This song saved me. Reminded me of what I am grateful in this life. Gur raimh maith agut a Rónán agus Myles. Tá mé fós anseo mar gheall ar an amhrán seo.

I nearly turned my back, from the top down. My reason was nearly buried there My God was nearly abandoned there My code was nearly broken there I nearly turned my back, from the top down But that is not what happened to me Nor what was in store for me That is not what was to befall me Maybe luck was with me Luck with me Like an angel overhead Working on my behalf Unbeknownst to me. I nearly failed my God there That night was nearly too dark for me That war was nearly too costly for me I nearly turned my back That night was nearly too long for me That slope was nearly too steep for me The world was nearly too fractured for me I nearly turned my back From the top down But that is not what happened to me..

I knew this song was special when I heard it. Found the translation as my Irish isn't great and my god it hit hard. For all the tough times I've had in life, this sums my life up. Grace looked over me in dark times or even an angel ❤️ lucky is me ❤️ beautiful song....

God bless you, mo deirtháir, Rónán. Thanks for bringing that one back from the "room where all the unwritten proms are kept". Kavanagh spoke of the process in those terms in his psuedo-autobiography Tarry Flynn. Your performances as I have viewed them have always been monumental to me, thank you for this cherry you have layed out for us. So soul nourishing, I can't tell you how moving. God bless.

This channel reminds me of why the Internet, and KZbin, can actually be a gift from God, not a disaster orchestrated by the Devil. The size of the audience on the one side, and of that on the other, however, is worrying. This man makes it sound like the language was created for him just to sing it. When I share this with people, they usually just have one word to describe it:'Beautiful'. I guess there is no other word that one can use, or maybe I would dare interject one, and the word is Divine.

An enchanting, delightful piece of singing, playing & filming. I'll be sending it to my son Edmund later : I believe he'll relish the role played by the briefly but closely observed cats. I thought I might track down a translation - but I'm entirely happy without such. Lovely to hear Ronan speak after the playing. Thank you very much - players & Myles!
