Tandoori Chicken in the Air Fryer is definitely the easiest & fastest way to make authentic looking & tasting tandoori chicken that is slightly charred on the outside, while still being tender, juicy & succulent on the inside.
This recipe is ready in under 30mins making it more convenient to use an Air Fryer than an ordinary conventional oven.

Ingredients:
1.7kg of chicken legs - thigh & drumsticks
2 heaped tablespoons of:
Greek yoghurt and pataks tandoori marinade
4 tablespoons of oil
The juice of two limes
Garlic, ginger & chilli paste:
50g of fresh garlic cloves
40g of fresh ginger
4 green chillies
1/2 tablespoon heaped of:
Salt
Coriander
Garam masala & deghi mirch (Kashmiri chilli powder)
1 teaspoon of turmeric powder
1/2 teaspoon of dried chilli flakes
1/2 tablespoon of cumin seeds
1/4 teaspoon each of red and orange food colouring (optional)

Made the marinade yesterday and coated seven boneless skinless chicken thighs. I cooked three of them in my Cosori air fyer and the other four in my GE Profile range (air fryer function) this evening. It came our delicious but a tad over-cooked in the case of the air fryer. Next time, I'll cook for 20 minutes instead of 25 and check the internal temp then. The oven had more capacity and took longer to cook. In that case, I'll try 450 degrees (Fahrenheit) and stick with 25 minutes. I used four Serrano chilis - very hot - and a teaspoon of ground dried chili powder. Came out spicy and just the way we like the heat. It is more work than getting takeout tandoori but the results were comparable. Actually, I think this recipe delivers a juicier result. Thanks for showing the way to tandoori cooking at home.

This was fantastic as went down a treat at home with everyone. I also use your chicken Tikka method too for cooking bite size pieces in the oven for using in some of my curries. One problem is when I take it out to let it cool and come back to use it, some thieves in the house have snaffled pieces of it, hence less for the curry! lol Another idea I've kinda stolen from you Shamza.
