I made this dish yesterday for friends and they loved it. This dish is truly amazing. Thank you for sharing it. I was scared of making this dish and screwing it up. When I made it, it sat for a little while on the stove cooling off a little so all the flavors jut settled in. I can't tell you how awesome this dish came out. After the meal, everyone threw me on their shoulders and paraded me around the street singing, "For he's a jolly good fellow"... haha, ok so that last part didn't happen. But that dish, came out ridiculously amazing. Again, thank you. !!!

Just cooked it for my wife. I used boneless, skinless chicken thighs. I also baked a loaf of ciabatta bread, sliced it, added olive oil, put it under the broiler, and rubbed garlic on top of it. I lined up 3 slices of the bread on her plate and poured the chicken on top of it. Long story short, it was one of the best dishes she’s ever had. A BIG THANKS TO YOU! 🙏

Just made this for me and the kids. Left out the sun dried toms as it’s a no go for them, and did mini chicken fillets instead of full chicken breast. Was delicious and my daughter polished the lot off, which is a first for her with onions and peppers! I added pasta to it to serve, and put the Parmesan on top instead of in the sauce.

I made this for dinner last night and it was absolutely delicious! I just made a few adjustments by using chicken thighs and I cooked them in the air fryer first. Then instead of using heavy cream, I used about 1/3 cup of lower fat cream cheese. I put it on mashed potatoes as you suggested and presto, my husband loved it! Will definitely be cooking this again. I’ve made this twice already, and it is so good. I found I had to add a little bit more water than it called for so you might increase the chicken bullion if you do so. Also I did not have cream as I live in a tiny little fishing village in Mexico but they always have crema on the shelves. It’s their equivalent of sour cream but not as sour. Other than making sure I had enough liquid I followed the recipe exactly. It’s delicious and beautiful to serve.

I highly recommend thighs for this! Same steps as this video, seal in the pan and then grill on high. The higher fat content gives you a deliciously sweet char. I would also simply quarter the onions and caramelise the outsides before I rendered the sauce. Fantastic with lemon and garlic rice or a spinach and green bean salad with chopped almonds for low carb alternative.

While, fundamentally, I cannot fault this recipe, please take this chef's comments on board. If we butterfly the chicken breast, we can easily reserve it while making the sauce, then finish it off in the pan, in the sauce. This preserves more flavour and makes it a one-pan meal; less dishes and saves electricity. What I love about this recipe is that it is SO at the heart of making a good meal. Add a bit of curry powder and coconut milk and this same recipe makes the most amazing curried chicken. Substitute the chicken for pumpkin and/or sweet potato and chickpeas for an amazing vegetarian version. Or, leave out the chicken and add some mince (ground beef). Substitute the salt with a bit of anchovy, add a touch of chili, then cook potatoes in the sauce . . . . This is the basic recipe on which to base a hundred meals; and not presented in a 20-minute foo-foo, but sharp and to the point. Nicely done!

@@lauradelaney5457 Hi Laura. It's very sweet of you to reply. To answer your question, you can absolutely pan-fry it in just a little butter. This is what I love about the recipe and the style you've chosen. A little butter works great but a light batter of egg, flour and crumbs will work just as well. My mother (late 70's) FORCES me to make schnitzel at least once a week. Leave out the oil and cook it on medium-heat in diced tomato or on on a bed of cabbage.... Your recipe lies at the heart of good quality basic cooking skills. I too had to start somewhere, but there wasn't KZbin back then! I don't think you're a novice but I appreciate your modesty.

I accidentally came across this recipe and it was a blessing in the sky. I'm a newlywed and I hosted my first Christmas dinner and made this recipe and it was a hit! I made some few adjustments. I would recommend using chicken thighs with bones and skin on, it has more flavor. I also seasoned the chicken with salt and paper and let it sat for about an hour. When I sautéed the veggies I added the garlic later because I didn't want it to burn. I also chopped the spinach so it can evenly cook and blend better with the sauce. Again thank you! 😊 I'm definitely making it again.

There you go again, getting my taste buds working overtime. This looks amazing as always, I might have to break my isolation today to go and get some sun-dried tomatoes etc. Loved the acrobats with the chicken. It was so funny. I was like, 'why does she want some the right way up and some upside down'? I thought you had a hidden agenda, somewhere. Thanks again for sharing. Stay safe over there. Made with coconut milk instead (because I forgot the heavy cream at the store), and had smaller cuts of the chicken for more surface area with the dredge. It was very well received, even with my mother, who has more sensitive taste to spice. This will be one I keep in the repertoire, so thank you for sharing, even if my feedback is three years late.

I just made this, again, for dinner and my family LOVES it! Even one of my sons and husband don’t like onion but they love this dish. I’ve made this 4 or 5 times in the last 3 months- since I found this recipe and it’s already a a family favorite. The flavors in this dish are so complimentary. It’s truly an award winner worthy recipe. I’ll be making this for a small dinner party coming up and I can’t wait to hear the feedback from my guests. Me - when I imagined myself during a global pandemic - Mad Max. Me - during a global pandemic - I finally learned to cook. This dish was a hit with my family. Next time I'm going to add some crispy bacon, and fry that first before using the same pan for the chicken.
