Yes indeed. It's 2023. I've been having problems with my Phillips disc tray not wanting to open. Got mad then I got smart. And here I am. You helped me open the tray to retrieve the disc. The fan test on the PS3 Fat doesn't work on the first model (the one that originally came with a 60 GB harddrive). Sony added it because so many consoles YLODed and the players had no possibility to get their discs out before sending the consoles in.

I have removed the stuck disk from dvd player using plastic egg slice with double sided tape across edge - it worked - fantastic - many thanks to you and to You Tube.

Hi, I looked at them but unfortunately they do not have any manual release. The only way would be to dismantle them or use the sticky tape method to try and get the stuck disc out :-)

@@PinoyBowlerGS92 Considering that the original PS3 Phat model (the 60 GB one) didn't have a manual release either, I am sure Sony never thought about adding one to the PS2 either. The fan test method was added later, the 40GB models and the 80 GB models had that method.

@@nekomystery1300 Seriously? The PS1 is a toploader, which means the door either opens or it doesn't (not that I know of consoles where the door doesn't open, more like it won't close). Disks don't get pulled in. The PS2 phat doesn't have a manual release and the PS2 slim is a toploader again. The Nintendo Switch doesn't even use disks.

Great job on covering so many different devices will straight forward information. I've dealt with plenty of 'find the pinhole' drives on various devices. I had plenty of fun finding out how to do it with a PS4 Pro. Excellent video, very useful information :) I have PS3 Slim, have had it almost 10 years by now and didn't know there's a way to get the disc out manually. So far haven't even needed to use manual eject in any of my players but as they get older, chances are getting higher all the time that some day they'll break down and manual eject is necessary.

Fantastic video. Very informative, _(Though I knew how to do most of them except the PS4's & PS3's.)_ Clear and simple instructions and examples and full demos of most popular devices, though Wii & Wii U could have been included, but that could be a follow on video with another set of popular devices e.g. Multi Disk changers for car stereo's, _(the enclosed unit separate from car stereo, usually fitted in the boot of car)_ Car stereo CD players themselves, etc. Keep up the good work!

P.S. if your looking for a fun challenge and more than a little frustration for something totally fixable.. but 'frustrating fun'. Try restoring an old style 'flip' clock.. The vintage ones are temperamental , can over time end up running fast, slow, or getting 'stuck' for less than obvious reasons. Another particularly fun 'puzzle' is fixing the various '(home consumer) 'steam vac' items. Failed turbine/impeller driven pumps are the most common failure (bearing compromised, or other foreign matter) Clogged solution lines, safety switches.. LOTS of failure points to test/mislead..

The Xbox 360 used several different brands of DVD drives. I think that's why it has the multiple holes in the front.

awww man, i wish you'd done this decade ago i had 5 CD changer Hi-Fi tower with stuck trays. now the whole thing is gutted and CDs are free. (Casette and radio worked last time i tried but you know there is massive gaping hole in the device now)

Take a small cloth and cover phone screen facing up, then using a hammer... firmly tap the middle of the phone a few times, the more firm you are the quicker results. As soon as you hear a snap or crick sound, that's the Samsung G S2 removed from the problem.

9:17 This isn't working with all PS3 FAT models. Only with CECHG or later ones. CECHE01 and older don't have this feature sadly. But I gotta admit that the last method really nailed it. That got me to laugh how u got both discs out ^^

I believe there are three different disk drive models in the original Xbox. But all three do have a hole which allows a paper clip to be used to open it. You just need to find that hole for your model.
