Hi Alan and Sally. I really enjoyed this vlog. Thank you for all the marvellous information you gave on the area around Sutton lock, very informative. This vlog is a real crossover on canal and industrial heritage, with the addition of then bringing us up to the 1940s with the introduction of power stations and then right up to today !!!. Absolutely fantastic stuff. And Reggie is looking great also. Cheers to all three of you 👍🍺

Interesting to see you navigate the domestics - water in and waste out. I'm wondering how many separate keys you need on the network for all the different facilities you use.

For the area I’m in just the waterways key, in other parts different keys are needed, likewise, paddle raising mechanisms are very different on some canals.

I have a possibly strange question but do you occasionally find that the potable water from areas you are visiting can sometimes do strange things to your digestion? Where I live in Ontario, the bedrock is limestone but on trips to the north in areas that are "Canadian Shield" (absolutely ancient granitic rocks) the trace element chemistry in the water can have peculiar effects!

Hi Stephen, I’ve never had any problems with drinking water, the only difference I might note is whether it’s soft or hard. There have been a few issues over the years where the wrong amount of chemicals have been added, but these are very rare.

You didn't pay homage to the "throne" at bridge 14! It isn't gone now, is it? Yours is the first video of any narrowboater that has not, at least, spared a few seconds of video on it. Onwards to Charity Dock! So far, every narrowboat channel that I follow has passed by this area at one time or another!

I had to think long and hard about this but believe I recall to what you refer. I’ve looked back at the original footage, part of which is seen in the previous vlog. When I came under the bridge I turned and took a good look and can confirm it’s not there! What a place Charity Dock is.
