I've been trying to figure out what was going on with me for a few years now and I believe that I have this neuromuscular junctionopathy condition. I've been to many doctors and no one has been able to tell me what's going on. If there's any way to get in touch that would be so much appreciated. I recently have been having symptoms through out my whole body which is off putting because the symptoms were usually in just the head and "eyes" I've gotten my eyes checked out and they were perfect eyes but I experience weakness in them. Please help me

Hi there...I have a question about progressive congenital myopathy. My son 13 recently had his muscle biopsy and it came back showing three different types of myopathy present at once. His neurologist said she has never seen this before so we are confused. We all have done genetic testing and he came back with 4 mutations on three different genes. He is Autosomal recessive so what does this mean? Is that why he has three different types at once? Please help me understand. This has been a long process and my son is getting worse. His proximal muscles are affected as well as his right eye muscle(that's new). He has hip problems and gets short of breath with any exercise. He was in physical therapy but we stopped it because each visit seems to make him worse. Any information or leads to follow next...please let me know. Thank you for your time.

Myopathy - presentation: with weakness of shoulders & hips (B/L proximal muscles), spreading downward (to hands and feet), to the torso, and neck - Causes: -- genetic: duchenne's: affects young boys, caused by x chromosome mutation -- idiopathic -- metabolic -- autoimmune: myositites: may or may not also involve skin -- toxic: corticosteroids: NMJopathy - presentation: fluctuating eye [lid] muscle (CN 3/4) weakness +/- above (use-related fluctuation: weakness worse with muscle use - Causes -- autoimmune: myasthenia gravis:

It depends. Some of the disorders that cause these syndromes have current treatments and some do not, but research is ongoing.

Thanks! I'm on a mission to learn everything I can related to the myopathy I am experiencing. Reason being is it was a combination of nueropathy I had before I was on Prednisone and steroid myopathy. I haven't yet seen the neurologist but after medication doing this I'm switching to a treatment that is as natural as possible. Any natural medicine not yet known I will be searching for. I have plans to travel to other countries in order to do so.
