Ar Tonelico II - EXEC_HARMONIOUS_FUSION/. with Lyrics

This hymmnos song is sung by Jacqli and is a varied version of the first one in Ar Tonelico called "EXEC_HARMONIOUS" which is Mir's first ever hymmnos. This one is sung in Ar Tonelico II and adds "FUSION" on the end of the song. It's supposed to be a calming song but to me, the lyrics don't seem to calming haha.

Poor Mir, her first song thanking humans and she was so proud of and wanting to be praised for it - being thought of as useless because it couldn't be used as a weapon.

man, i love mir, you can really feel the pain she's been through in this song, trying to create songs for love and happiness but then being forced to create songs of war and destruction, and then finally turning that destruction on those that hurt her... her past really makes her one of the deepest characters in the ar tonelico series and that's why she is my favorite character in the ar tonelico series (quite possible in all vid game series)

God bless you for mentioning an Oscar Wilde story. :) Yes that is exactly how the story went. A nightingale tries to make a red rose bloom for a student in love and does so by sacrificing herself. In the end, exactly like Mir's efforts, the man is ungrateful, and lets the rose get trampled in a gutter after being rejected- despite it being described as the most beautiful rose ever created. I think this song is based on that tale because it represents Mir's past perfectly.

@Zambatoh The lyrics really aren't creepy at all. The way I interpret it, Mir is using the bird as a metaphor for herself and when she is talking about the "blood turning the white flowers red" she is using blood as a metaphor for her work in creating hymmnos (like this one). The whole of the song is Mir asking about why her creators don't appreciate her songs which conveyed her love and happiness.

I think the song is based on the Oscar Wilde story because the line at 2:32 goes "It's alright, I read it from the books. The white flowers will turn red." And as you said, like how the man is ungrateful for the rose, Mir's efforts in creating beautiful songs praising humanity are spurned by her scientists creators because they weren't songs they could use for war.

Late but the type of Reyvateil Mir is a Neo Pureblooded β-type Reyvateil. They're basically copies of the Origins (hence the name "Origins." They were the original Reyvateils). Their "Hymn Code" have a section that includes the name of the Origins to indicate which Origin they're descended from (with Mir, she had Eolia in hers before she hacked it to have Teiwaz instead). The parents she mentions are her scientist creators who spurned her after she created songs that couldn't be used for war.

I remember reading a story about a nightingale that let the thorns of a white rose bush pierce it's chest as it sang of love, it's blood turning the roses red. It did this for a boy trying to woo a girl but she would only be swayed by red roses. I think in the end the boy got rejected anyways.

despite the tragic and depressing lyrics, this song really did end up helping me relax a lot. So many things are happening in 2020 and I just wanna take a break sometimes. The childish voice at times, along with the cry for attention at the climax of the song, helps me reset my mood.

I was just playing around with the in game database today, for the first time in a while, and I started listening to this song and got to wondering, what DO these lyrics mean? After watching this video, I can safely say the description was not lying! It starts off all pretty-like, then it starts to get a little creepy and creepier until it gets metaphorically ax-crazy on those birds! That aside, its this side of Mir that makes her one of my favorite characters in gaming.

In my opinion, she's using "mother" not in that sense but using it more to refer to the world she was born into or perhaps a literal mother. ie. the woman who carried and gave birth to her, if she was born that way, since Mir was created to be a weapon of war without emotions in a laboratory. It's not mentioned whether she was raised from infancy or if she was created fully grown so I can't be too sure.

The question is that they are briefly mentioned, but no important details are ever given about them either in the games or any of the external material to them. I mean, they were never mentioned in any of the Settei Books, Toukousphere Issues, novels or in any of the columns of the Ar Portal.

If we can call Misha's version the original one, to begin with. The creators stated that Misha's version underwent a Hymmnos Fusion, so its feelings and intent don't much up 100% to the ideas Mir had when she originally crafted Harmonious. This one isn't the original either, so we have never actually gotten the chance to hear it.

Gotta say, awesome song. Just looking at Mir's version's translated lyrics just makes me want to cry tears for her past...again. I'm guessing since this refers to her life, then that little tidbit about "mother" must mean Shurelia/Eolia since that's her origin reyvateil.

However, there's also the mention of her having "parents" during Ar tonelico 2. Aside of that, I find it hard to believe that Shurelia would have been stupid or inconsiderate enough to have allowed these horrible things to happen to a member of her own race she would have raised herself if she actually was Mir's mother figure.
