I am seriously impressed. I’ve owned lot of bikes and done tons of work to them but nothing like this! It warmed my heart watching the original labels being applied, as if this neglected motorcycle was being reborn into the beautiful motorcycle it once was and still deserves to be. As a motorcycle enthusiast, thank you for sharing your incredible work with us, and for preserving such an iconic machine. Cheers from Michigan USA!

Thanks for an amazing restoration video, it brought back many fond memories watching you restore it as I brought my CR500 RH brand new in Australia for $4,600.00 and rebuilt it from frame up 3x times! over the many years of ownership I even drag raced it and it did the Quarter in 13.2 seconds stock!! it was an Animal to ride and anyone who was behind on the track's used to keep there head down if they seen me twist on the throttle!!

To say I am speechless is an understatement. You sir are nothing short of a master restorer. I always wonder how much work people like you had to do on bikes to garner such skills. I just received my 1981 Honda CR 250R in the USA my father bought for me in South Africa as a schoolboy in 1982. It has sat inside our farmhouse since I left South Africa in 1988. It is 100% original and after draining oil , coolant and cleaning carb and putting a new plug and filter it kicked over on the second kick having sat unridden for over 30 years . There is nothing like those old bikes . Thank you for taking us along on the journey . I bet the first ride was exhilarating like only a 500 can give you . 👌👌

Much respect.. as an American that seldomly sees these parts rusting away in someone's back yard, I know that you're doing God's work for the parts you might find in the UK that are rare as hen's teeth.. Bravo

I own a 1992 CR500R. I bought it because my father had one even before I was born, and there's home video of me climbing on the thing when I was less than 2 years old. Parts are very difficult to find for these things, so the fact that you've managed to salvage and re-use so much is very impressive. I admire your determination, and eye for detail. Also, the jazz in the shop reminds me fondly of my grandfather, and I greatly appreciate that nostalgia. Side note, if anyone has a line on an intake boot or a throttle housing for a 92, please let me know.

I used to race this exact model back in 1989 and 1990, before I left to go into the army. Sold it for a LOT less than you bought that one for! Loved it, I actually finished a race with a flat front tyre, my older brother who helped me spanner when I raced said I’d not finish, I told him, nah, don’t need a front tyre inflated! (You do, but the bike was such an animal, it done half the course on one wheel anyway!) What I’d give for another, with some 17” wheels and slicks!

Finally someone with my attention to detail! I done a yz125 1989. After I finished i just couldn’t ride it. Paid 300 for it! 2years getting parts all around the world for it. Then 1 year building it in spare time. Then sold it 4500. I also got the safety stickers made. Well done be proud of it! I brought a brand new tc125 and now rag hell out of it and dont care about the bike. They guy who brought mine said he wanted it for his man cave and its never to be ridden! So somewhere in england there is a yz125 1989 that completely restored back to original show room condition sitting in a man cave resting! I loved that bike but loved it so much I couldn’t ride it! I said il never restore another bike. Ive probably dont at least 5 different bikes after that but customers bikes not my personal bikes

Upgraded to a 87 CR-500 from my older 83CR480 race bike . Thought that if the 87 had the same slim ergonomic fit that the 480 had along with a OHLINS rear shock on it It would've a much better bike. Great restoration job 👍

Stunning! I mean just an outstanding build. I live near the Mojave desert and owned a 1986 CR 500 and it made my eyeballs bleed. Even in the Mojave desert, there are very few people who could ride this machine to its potential. With a resto this nice it would be a shame to rail it in the dirt. It's a museum piece now.
