Never fished piers or anything I’ve only ever fished freshwater but im going there in a month what do you guys use for rods can i just use a regular medium heavy spinning rod

Any bass or hvy FW trout gear will work. Good 2 have a pier landing net also U can git them on Amazon usually

Me and my family would tear the spade fish up on the cherry grove peir there so fun to cacth and he actually caught a 15 incher

Yes they sure do! Sometimes shrimp works a little better but if it's getting picked at too much sand fleas can really help.

If you're looking for something to get you by the daiwa d shock (Walmarts in myrtle carry it) is a great choice and almost half the price of a ugly stik at 25$. Otherwise a good penn combo would work or lews. I've been using more lews reels and rods lately and have no complaints.
