thank you...I love my Myrtle, and this video. I use a moisture meter to see how my plants are as I have two huge healthy Palm Plants (cat?) that I want to keep balanced. My myrtle was needing water twice a week, and now in summer once....which made no sense other than there is no heat but AC. This week suddenly the soil was staying moist...like for 10 days..moist on the meter, not really wet though . I wrapped it in newspaper to dry out the soil ( have I lost you yet) and now will buy some new soil and pit it back in its small pot. All signs are healthy, any reason why you think the soil stayed moist? Thank you!

Hey, I had to bring my myrtle already indoors. It stopped growing, but it seems to hang in there. My fear is though, that it won't last the winter inside. Is it still worth a shot at this time the year to take a cutting and propagate it? Also, does myrtles propagate with a small branch (my myrtle is just a little bigger from yours)?

Hi there! i have had my myrtle topiary for about a year and i let it get a bit overgrown, so much so that it is a bit bare in the center. i went and cut off as much of the dead stuff as i could get to, but do you have any tips on how to get the interior of the plant to be more full??? it has a lot of new growth coming out of it, its just all towards the end of the branches. I didn't want to over do it and cut off too much today along with all the little dead bits, i was afraid i would shock it, so i didn't actually prune anything off that was still living. I am planning on putting outside here in the next couple weeks once it stays consistently above 50, as we have been getting some colder days here lately. I havent been able to find a whole lot of information on the myrtle online that wasn't so generalized so thank you so much for posting this video!!!

I’d need more information to give sound advice, but pruning will definitely be the way to go. It’s best to prune in Mid-to-late- Summer.

I have 2 compacta myrtle on my front porch that gets tons of daylight but not direct sunlight. I’ve had them about 2 months now. I water every other day but parts of it seem really dry and I can’t figure out what I’ve done. What do you recommend?

Hi is there a way to bring a myrtle topiary(indoors)back to life if most of the branches are dry, but some new green leaves keep growing on the outer layer? I think mine is slightly bigger than the one in the video Thank you and looking forward to hearing your advice

SuperVivaVictoria absolutely. As long as there’s new growth, there’s a shot. Ship off dead material and continue with proper care!

OhBangShil depends on whether or not it was grown in a greenhouse.

@@tannertheplanter102 not really. Myrtles like the sun. Putting it in your sunniest window is a compromise to putting it out in the sun. When people say put it in Direct sunlight that is only because there is only indirect sunlight in the house not because the myrtle prefers it.

@@elsagrace3893 True, all plants would prefer a life outside. However, many plants we purchase at stores are grown in greenhouses, instead of in direct sun outdoors. If you grow a plant that loves full sun outdoors in a greenhouse, then try to put it in full sun outdoors, it will often times burn. That is the main reason for my suggestion of a bright window, instead of where they naturally grow.

Hey there. I have a Myrtle Topiary that looks exactly like the one in this video. Sadly the leaves feel dry and are curling yet are still green. Does this mean the poor thing has died? Anything I can do?

For sure. If you have healthy roots, you've got a shot. The fact that the trunk is still green indicates at least a somewhat healthy root system.

Scrape the bark if there's green under the bark its alive but if it's brown its dead
