Well Linda, after watching you for six months I finally took the plunge and tried my hand at my first topiary shaping. It was really fun to see that little Winter Gem transform into a little ball. I bought a new pot for it and mulched with little bark mulch chips. It's adorable and I had such a pleasant time doing it in the quiet of the morning. Thanks for sharing your passion!

Linda, your interior has so much character. The windows, lamp, gardening books, boots, etc., all create a lovely spot. And of course, love the topiaries.

Could you do a show on turning a young seedling 🌱 into a topiary, please, I have lavender & Rosemary seedlings about 6inches tall, look like sticks, do I let them grow to full height before trying to topiary them, or do I trim the top now & wait for them to get bushie? Thank you 😊 🇦🇺Au.

Linda, you have touched a hot button with me. I only found your channel just over a month ago, furthermore on my way from Az to Pa to sell my home. I had to buy 2 racks to hold over 50 1-gal grower pots from all my starts I have started. I’m just in love with this new found spin from gardening. They all are doing great, but not sure how hundreds are going to make it back to Az??? But I sure am having fun! Tfs

Good information - thank you. I bought a double ball Eugenia at Walmart for $15 and I’ve had so much fun keeping it shaped nicely this summer because I watched your video on creating topiaries and that took the fear out of that first cut! Thanks for all the great tips 🌿

How cold of winters can they withstand outdoors? I live in south where we get a lot of heat and usually don’t see temps lower than 25-30 often throughout our winter. We don’t get snow or anything. I just bought two Eugenia topiary and still learning how to properly care for then

At 0:54 you call the double globe plant "myrtle" when I think you meant to say "eugenia." Please confirm and clarify?

I have a eugenia topiary I have had for several years here in my zone 5 garden. I bring it into my south facing dining room before it freezes and take it out after last frost. It looks a little shabby by the time I take it out in the spring, but I give out a good hair cut, top it with worm castings, and it's ready to go.

Am loving all your topiary videos! LIving in a zone 5 makes it a bit difficult to hoard them but I find myself always scouring the clearance shelves at Walmart (the thrill of the hunt!) and Lowes for things to topiary!

Love those shutters, they must be unique to the house. I have never seen anything like them. Love the lamp too! Is the rest of your house styled the same, love to see more. It lends itself to bringing the inside out.

You talked about over-wintering at a friend's greenhouse - curious as to weather the greenhouse is heated? I have a greenhouse, but do not heat it in the winter. Surely the Eugenia wouldn't survive my greenhouse, which gets as cold as 20 degrees?

Hi, I wonder if you can give me some advice, I bought 2 Eugenia Topiary at Lowes and I planted them outside and the caught fungus with leave that have spots with yellow, and they were very expensive, what can I use to kill the fungus on these Eugenia Topiary plants ? if you can help please. Thank you.

I bought 2 eugenias and planted them outside too. I sprayed them with ferti-lome Liquid Systemic Fungicide because my hollies had a fungus and I didnt want my Eugenias to get it. I'm in zone 7a and now I'm not sure planting them in ground outside was such a good idea. They look beautiful but I'm afraid they will die in the winter. May just have to dig them out. 😐

Thank you, that’s helpful. Do Gardenias like August Beauty or Jubilation need the same winter care in zone 7b or 8? (Northern GA)

I believe so. I would definitely mulch them, and make sure that the soil is on the acidic side :-)
