I personally prefer Polish version, but I'm still impressed how incredibly well it's translated. Lyrics still have exact the sme meaning, and still sounds quite poetic

In 2002 when this song came out my father was in a suicide bombing on bus 4 in tel aviv. (Sep 19 2002) He survived , 5 people died. 60 injured. He died mentally. I was 17. After about 6 months he asked me to drive him to the closed mental hospital for the first time. I just finished 8 hours shift at work. I drove him, he got out of the car and was gone. I dont remember if he said anything. He died 3 years . this song was playing on the radio on the drive back when i was alone and i felt like driving my self off the road into the mountain so i screamed the words and i will never forget that day.

And yet, Polish version is deep, English version is shallow. Same text, same band, different language. I wonder, it's by design or accidental. Polish version is like listening to Chopin, the same feelings, yet there are people, who don't feel a thing listening to Chopin. It's making me sad.

@pawelepaolo973 of course I did. Sorry I love the english version. But that is irrelevant, it is a great song. I guess if you (I suppose you are Polish) had to choose between Slovak and English version you would also choose English and I would like more the Slovak version. That is just the way it is.
@Zvenygora6 жыл бұрын
I speak English and Polish, both fluent, as foreign languages (my native tongues are Ukrainian and Russian) and this one is not worse as for me, yet the Polish one is something really does something to heart and soul. In short, Długość dźwięku samotności is the Polish song no 1 for me, when this one is just a nice thing and that's it.

And even left alone one day Ain't gonna change, it's not my world Before me there's a road I know The one I chose myself to go Yeah, perfect forever, always clever Should I be and I should feel Super cool but then I am a fool But then it's not me And even left alone one day Ain't gonna change, it's not my world Before me there's a road I know The one I chose myself to go See, I like the evenings Like to get hidden for quite some time And yet, I like against my nature with ostentation To stay alone, climb to a tree top And keep looking skyward No sensation, but I know that right here For another time Can't be who I want to be And even left alone one day Ain't gonna change, it's not my world Before me there's a road I know The one I chose myself to go Nights, some nights I awake to Go out though I hate it Look at this chemical world Smelling like grayness, like paper love sadness With you and me and someone else Don't know who, wants to be For several years With obsession and with ostentation Left alone a while I've seen that guy And even left alone one day Ain't gonna change, it's not my world Before me there's a road I know The one I chose myself to go
