I was stationed in Korea and moved in with a friend of mine who teaches prior to my official assignment. As a tall girl: Keep in mind that the body type in Asia is very different and pack according to this fact: If you are tall, chesty, have feet larger than a size 8US, wide shouldered, own a big 'ol booty, or just in any way shape or form not the average size or shape of the women in Asia it will be hard, or expensive to purchase things like bras, shoes, "adult" socks and "adult" gloves (without characters one them), blazers, winter coats, wet weather boots and outerwear etc. You might want to bring your favorite things in those categories. Make up: Bring a couple of different types of foundations, if you're of a tan to deep complexion. Pressed powder, liquid, cream etc. South Korea does have a rainy or monsoon season a very hot summer and a bitter winter if you've never experienced one or all of those occurrences. Oily skinned girls you don't want to be wearing a cream foundation in hot muggy weather. ...just my point of view

If you occasionally exfoliate your lips gently w/ a toothbrush (use only for lips) it will help towards dry and cracking lips. Your lips will be so soft, smooth, and full of color!

It is really interesting! I am studying in USA and most your opinions are what I would recommend to those Koreans will pack to leave outside Korea! I always regret that I didn't bring more Korean tooth pastes! The tooth pastes here make feel like I need to brush my teeth two times. And another thing is Sun-scream because those here irritate my eyes a lot! (Maybe I need to try other brands) and also as I am not familiar with the BB cream here, I asked my parents in Korea to send me BB cream. First I used to bring sanitary goods from Korea but not I just use products here. Thank you for your great video~! It is always interesting to here how non-Koreans think about Korea and I have something to tell to my friends.

I am a nurse. Between hand sanitizers and constant washing the skin on my hands and arms are dryyyyyyyy! I'm also dark in complexion so i understand being ashy. For my elderly patients we use Lachydrin also known as ammonium lactate cream. Amazing stuff! If you can find it on korean ebay or amazon you will be thanking me from the tips of your toes. Thanks for the videos!!

Shea butter works on my lips, and it soaks in. Although I like to drink water before I apply it for that extra step. Also I you have a Bath and Body Works there, you should check out the Hydra Glass Lip gloss.

I would suggest Cetaphil lotion. It can be found at Olive Young, Watson's and maybe even Emart and Home Plus. I tried the toothpaste here and I hate it. I also hated the natural toothpaste I ordered from iherb. It is back to Colgate for me. I wish I had not brought so many sleeveless shirts for summer.

Super dry skin? Darling. Every Nigerian I know swears by Vaseline!

Vaseline just makes me feel like I bathed in oil, and it doesn't absorb into the skin either. Personally not a fan

I'm kind of freaking out because my first paycheck and flight reimbursement won't come until a month after I arrive, and I still have bills to pay back home that month like school loans. So there's no way I can afford to buy anything once I get there, and I feel like my only option is to fit my entire life in my suitcases. Any ideas?

It is possible - but expensive - to get cosmetics ordered in your shade at Lotte Department store. I recall seeing MAC, Bobbi Brown, Chanel, and several more familiar brands. If you're willing to wait for something - and you know it works, it's an option. Also - I don't know if you attempted it, but it was impossible for me to find bras in Korea. Anything bigger than a B is a challenge, and bigger than a C is impossible.

For someone going to study abroad, even though I'm from the US and can bring 2 checked I really only feel like bring 1 checked and 1 carry on. My school does not provide sheets or comforters, and I don't want to fill up my whole suitcase with bedding. But I won't be making a living here... Not sure if I should buy it in America and bring 2 checked or wait until I get here and see if I could find it. I checked out the town I was going to on fb and after scrolling pages I only saw someone selling a cellphone.

Thank you so much for your helpful videos! I heard you mentioned Boots brand makeup; do they have that store or brand there, or was that just in the airport? I LOVE that brand, and have been trying to stock up for my approaching trip/year there. :)

Hello! I really enjoyed watching your video and you're so pretty! When you flew to South Korea, did you have to put your makeup and lotions in plastic bags or were they safe in your suitcase on the airplane? Thank you!! :D
@savfromsopn8 жыл бұрын
When I flew internationally I put everything in plastic bags (because you never know how things might bump around). SUPER glad I did, because my laundry detergent (I needed this for my trip - didn't want to bother buying a giant bottle for a 1.5 month trip) came open and almost made a HUGE mess.
