Mysonne opened up about a line about Future in a recent freestyle with Funk Flex, where he rapped, "Future said: 'God blessin all the trap n****s' / I got a question for that: "Where u at n***a?" He explained that he was speaking about the lyrics in Future's music where he raps about the riches of the street life without talking about the pitfalls and consequences.
He went on to explain the difference in lyrics from Pusha T and Jay Z, who explain what will happen if you decide to go down the road of selling drugs, but Mysonne said that similar messages aren't made in Future's songs. To hear more of what Mysonne had to say, including how Future's music negatively influences kids, hit the above clip.

Future doesn't tell anyone to go do drugs but his music always promotes it and makes these middle school kids think it's cool to do drugs. Homie spitting facts but most people gon say he hating.

Kevin K but if u really listen to his songs sometimes he's taking the drugs in for his pain. Sometimes he just saying it to sound cool but majority of his songs he's talking about that type of stuff to release pain.

Newsflash - middle schoolers always thought it was cool to break the rules and do drugs. It was happening back in the 60s before Future was born. He's popular b/c middle schoolers think drug use is cool, not the other way around. Drugs make him popular, he doesn't make drugs popular. Drugs don't need any help being popular lol.

Enter a name here Obviously. I'm not saying it's because of him alone but what you said explains it all! That's how wack rap is nowadays. Niggas need drugs to keep them relevant instead of true lyricism. At the end of the day if you need to say Molly Percocet as a hook for your song then you know one of two things is true or both. 1. Rap nowadays is trash and this is what people wanna hear or 2. You have no bars so you can just mumble names of drugs on a tough beat and pass it off as a song.
@Bigkahkistan

Right but you're blaming the rapper, who is the symptom, instead of the real cause. The music industry just gives people what they want. Instead of blaming another black man (which is what the system wants you to do), Mysonne should maybe look behind the curtains and see what forces are conspiring to keep young black men out of college and in jails - the prison industrial complex, the war on drugs, etc. Honestly he's playing right into their hands w/ this shit. Just scapegoating a fellow black man, turning against his own kind while the white folks at the top just laugh and get richer.

If Future did as many drugs as he raps about he'd be dead a few days ago. I said that to say this: Don't trick the young kids into thinking that you could do every drug known to man and still go out to be successful. He's subconsciously pushing the agenda to have young kids be more involved in drugs meanwhile he's living great in his mansion probably only doing marijuana.

That's what parents are for... Idk why people don't take personal responsibility for their actions. People blame video games, movies, book, etc.. Blame bad parenting.
@RuizMrs

NuNus Knees that plays a part in it but they aren't fully to blame. We live in 2017 where children have access to pretty much everything. And you can teach your child right from wrong all day, but that's not gonna stop them from being curious. WERE HUMAN! Think about pastor's kids who grow up in the church... they have all the right manners and morals in their toolbox, but that's not gonna stop them from wondering marijuana or alcohol tastes like or what the new Future album sounds like. It's called peer environment.

StacyMuah I disagree, at the end of the day parenting plays a HUGE part. I know many people including myself that was exposed to this kind of music and turned out just fine. Its about structure. Yes media can definitely influence but to place majority blame on it seems asinine.
@RuizMrs
@RuizMrs 7 жыл бұрын
NuNus Knees I actually agree, however I I don't think that the argument was about parenting because who's to say that Future himself wasn't raised by great parents? I think that the whole point was that entertainers with large followings talk about certain things like drugs and sex when they really don't live that lifestyle and it confuses the kids who think that they can be successful and have the same reckless lifestyle.

If music is to inspire, how come we aint getting no higher?quote from Sista Lauryn Hill. And that's been the Reality. Sugar hill gang rapped themselves into the Lifestyle thru Positive existence. Color Tv& sun roof Cadillac..etc. The Greatest Lyricists May have looked like A dope boy. Yet he never Rapped about being about it. And plenty of others. Today All this Drug,gun& sex talk is Ruining young minds. We gotta Except responsibility. Like The "General" apologized for Misleading our Children. Khael Bellony True, but we can't acknowledge the factual evidence of the broken home epidemic in our community AND say oh well it starts in our homes. Our homes are overly damaged, our communities need to hold everyone involved accountable. From the trapper, to the rappers, to dare I say the listeners, it's time to cut the sh*t. I don't sit in my house and not feel for my people just because my house isn't as broken. The dishonor and disgrace hurts me too.

music is more powerful then people realize, music can change a whole generation how do you think we went from playing outside, chilling with fam at bbq's listening to old school jams but now most kids smoke weed, sip lean,fuck, seperate when a child is made and shoot shit cause thats all they hear and see. even if a parent tried to turn them away from that life there is a chance they still wall fall into that loop cause they idolize the rapper or singer that is making art to those problems.

My philosophy teacher taught me something very profound when he said that: Art is the BEST form of propaganda. The subconscious mind is what guides most of your conscious actions. Through art the mind is conditioned subconsciously under the veil of entertainment.

Def one of the best interviews I've seen on KZbin period. Makes all sense. Fact is there is a social obligation that comes along with entertainment i.e., being a rapper whether an "artist" accepts that fact or not.

this video should have 10 million views and Mysonne needs to be applauded for speaking the truth and being positive and saying things the music industry does not want young kids to hear so they can keep corrupting young minds and sell more records and meanwhile record execs keep getting rich .

This man speaks the truth! Not only that, I'll go a step further, once you run out of time on this earth, and you are shown all the people you got in trouble for your words and lyrics, I wonder what would you say??, cause there would be nobody to blame, or nowhere to run. That doesnt only apply to singers,, but to EVERY single one of us!. Speak with love, compasion, patience, kindness, in other words live by the "Fruit of the Spirit". "Proverbs 18:21 21 Death and life are in the power of the tongue, and those who love it will eat its fruit." Something to think about. God Bless you America!

I agree he's spitting truth, but at the same time, you can't discredit someone for making music along the same popular lines as everyone else, meaning that like vlad said, future isn't the only one, does that mean that you have to make drug dealing music because everyone else is? No. But normally guys who come from that environment, only know one way. They didn't seek out the education you sought out. They didn't take the positive opportunities in their lives like you did. You can't knock someone for going down a different path, weather or not the children listen to that shit/get influenced by it, is up to the parents, point blank. Learn to teach your kids common sense. There are movies and shit out there far worse then a song saying "god blessin all the trap niggas" and that's just a fact. You can't blame a certain person for influencing people, people have free will, meaning future doesn't force them to listen to his music or act alike the subject matter. People need to grow up and realize that people do what they do, and a artist won't influence them to for instance commit a murder, because I'm smart enough to know that I don't want to sit behind bars for the rest of my life, they can have that. YOU can choose to be influenced or not influenced by someone, you can be a huge fan and not take part in any of the bullshit that a artist is talking about. Weak minded people will blame future for influencing them to do things that they knew were bad in the first place. Music is just like movies to me, 90% of that shit is a act. Lil wayne ain't pullin up to no red light and killing someone like he said in that song. That should be so obvious.

Shalawn Mayfield Understood. You cant stop the kid from getting influenced, but if you teach the kid well, he might not make those choices. Everyone talkin about molly and pills and lean, and yet ive never done any of that shit because im not easily influenced. Not everyone is like me, and some are more susceptible, but I think if you grow up with a good definition of right and wrong then you'll see things differently. Idc if they rap about lean and molly I aint touchin that shit. Its a choice you can make. And fuck everyone if they think u aint cool for not doing a drug.

I grew up on Jeezy, T.I. G-unit, Lil Wayne and Dipset. All Of them made music about hustling, shooting MF's, and gangbang shit. Yeah there were kids at my school that let them influence them to slang or whatever, but people need to take accountability of their own life and separate reality and entertainment. Most people listen to hardcore music, watch action movies and play violent video games, but know how to separate it from their 9-5 or their school life. If you end up committing crimes because of something you saw on tv or heard on the radio, that's your immature dumbass fault, for going down a path that wasn't meant for you.

This is one of the realist interviews I heard yet. Thank you bro. I wish one of these rappers would actually stand up and say fuck rap, it's the worst form of programming, I do this shit cause it pays my bills. Here in LA, I watched rap turn entire communities, regardless of race, from white to black to Asian to Hispanic to Armenian to Vietnamese to everything, I watched everyone start drinking 40's, smoking weed religiously, saging, selling and using. I watched women become self destructive bitches and guys do nothing but use bitches in self destructive ways. Watched a whole generation fuck they're, or our lives up to a beat! It made a whole generation think illegal, immoral and self destructive is normal. Now I'm a grown man and honestly it's shameful how we grew up, all the crazy shit we did is embarrassing, and what's more fucked up is I still can't shake the ghetto ways, still can't stop listening to the same music, even though I'm fully aware.

Mysoone - love his point of view. More of this is needed in our communities. Much of our communities are damaged by over consumption of many sorts. We should all aim to tackle at least one in our lifetime. Mine is alcohol abuse.Those numbers in black communities are mind blowing. I had one traumatic experience from over usage which made me change course. Not everyone has the ability to do so which is why leaders and advocates are needed.

I believe if we change the music we can change our people....and I love Hip-Hop ...loved Her from the first day I heard Her....one of my best jobs (summer mid 80's)...yes a record store..."did he just say record store" from some, and from other's"what's a record n what's a record store!" And it was a Mom n Pop's record store..which made it that much better! But Hip-Hop music and the culture was on a whole other vibe and that even factoring in the Hardcore rap! When was the last time you went to a house party where the worst things that may have jumped off was a dance crew battle to a fist fight...yes!...a fist fight. A more positive push/outlook...or as one Hip-Hop famously said "I did this so you didn't have to" And we all know that the street game was not meant for everyone, and I know this from a first hand account...cause I ran the streets! I guess it can be summed up to this: Positivity....but of course the record company don't want that! And why ...is it a weapon they use to keep us blind so to speak...the artist wants to do this but the record company needs you to do this for sales! And I guess that's why there are so many talented underground Hip-Hop across the board that are not signed! Let's take Hip-Hop Back!!!!
