Once he went to Ranganatha Swam temple for darshanam and the temple was closed, he composed this song and by the time he finishes composing, the temple opened on its own. I heard about this type of songs many years ago through a Kannada channel. I didn't know Kannada, and I heard about their names through English. The singers whom I knew by this way include Puttur Narasimha Nayak, Anantha Kulkarni, Ramakrishna Katukukke and also the singer of this song, Raichur Seshagiridas. But I knew about them more only very recently. All of them are good singers and sing great songs. But I want to know more about this type of songs. Who are the writers of this type songs?

At the end of every such songs there would be Ankita naama(pen name) of the composer of such songs. There are many such saints, daasaru(servants, literary meaning) in kannada. Primarily Purandara, Kananaka,Vijaya n many more.

There were several daasas who have written such songs. This song was written by Sri Shyama Sundara Daasa, who lived till 1968. He was a great poet and saint (jnani). You can find the words "Shyama Sundara Vittala" in the last para of this song. All his songs will bear this identifcation, which is called "Ankita". By referring to Ankita found in a song, we can know which Daasa has written that song. It is said that Sri Shyama Sundara Daasa lived most of his life in Manavi, a town near Raichur ( Karnataka ).
