Myst I-IV (and especially II-IV) have aged very well. The pre-rendered graphics and the quality stories and gameplay have ensured that. This many years on, if the games have not aged, they never will.

"That's why we made sure that the puzzles weren't too complicated" ... Is she kidding? I had a blast with Myst, Riven and Exile. 3 of my favorite games ever. Started up Revelation jumping up and down my chair like a little kid on christmas and ended up with being disappointed with the ridiculous and often ILLOGICAL puzzles. When playing Riven the puzzles were difficult yes but not -too- difficult nor -too- far feetched. Sure took me and my bf some nights to figure things out and often taking breaks just to clear our heads. But boy when one succeeded with one it was a pure dopamine rush that lasted all day and that I sometimes still think back to being all like " Dang that was good". With Revelation I get a bloody headache and the so called reward when figuring out a puzzle isn't big enough. Will play through it just cause I want the story and staying loyal to the series. But to hell with... "That's why we made sure that the puzzles weren't too complicated"

Elin Augustsson Fruktkastningen i Revelation var fruktansvärt jobbig.. För att inte tala om tronen i Spire..

I don't know, I found many of the puzzles in Riven incredibly difficult. I love the game, but couldn't finish it without a guide.

I agree. I could not get out of Sirius's age for the life of me. I only did the sound puzzle after looking if up online.

I had a huge issue understanding how to get through Riven (granted, I was less than 10 years old when I last played it), but I do agree that there's no need to add extra help for puzzles. My main issue is that, as far as I know, puzzles have always been explained SOMEWHERE within each game. It just requires paying attention and connecting, possibly, a lot of dots. I've mainly played Uru, so perhaps I'm wrong about those hints being present in other Myst games, but I know there are ages in there (Ahnonay, in particular), where you have to go to a specific place far away from the puzzles to get help with them.

The editing of this video is hilarious. It's as if the film maker thought the content was really boring or would rather be making a music video. I like how the interviews occur in these interesting but odd locations: in front of a castle, in a dark alley, standing on a railroad track, or riding into work on your horse-drawn commute (?). After about 15 minutes though, it's starting to make me sick.

Just finished the game. I loved the gfx, sounds, music -the production values, top notch. But hated the puzzles and the slow ass transitions! God, last 3-4 puzzles are soo tedious and time wasters!
