I was in Egghead Software (when it was a brick and mortar store) with my sister and her family and she doesn't play video games but she saw this and said this is what we should buy so we did. Great fun all of us sitting around the pc figuring this out, whenever we'd get stuck someone had an idea of what to do. Great game and a real ground breaker at the time.

My best friend and I played this game when we were in middle school. It was way too hard for us, but we eventually found her dad’s secret notes that were basically a complete guide through. He was a stay at home dad, and he slowly and secretly beat this game playing a little at a time while us kids were forced to do our homework time on another level of the house 😂 this game spooked me for some reason, it’s really not scary.

Technically you can beat the game in minutes. All you need to do is flip all the switches but the one next to the ship, then bring the page to Atrus through the fireplace. You don't actually need to complete the ages, they're just there to try to get you to complete the blue and red books.

I remember being frustrated as hell by the tram puzzle... because I usually played with the sound off 🤦 Oh, to live in a world without walkthroughs again 😂

What settings are you using? Mine is so pixelated it's hard to read the notes.

Super late on this, but you should be able to turn on filtering for the graphics by pressing Ctrl + Alt + F. I'm playing it in ScummVM and that's how to toggle the softer, filtered graphics. Input that keystroke again to turn the filtering back off.

I still haven't completed Myst riven and Myst 4 revelations. I completed this game using a walkthrough and Myst 3. Im about to get back into myst, so i can finally complete the rest of these. 🤨😐
